$400 a night for a run-down house, being ignored and insulted by staff, and having no tv or internet

The house was spacious

− This place is ridiculously overpriced for a house that's run-down, smells like mildew and is half-empty. By half-empty, I mean that there are lots of big closets, but no hangers. A washer and dryer, but no detergent. A full kitchen, but mostly empty cupboards containing random dishes in no particular order. 2 bowls, 3 plates that didn't match, etc. Like they just grabbed a few dishes at a yard sale last minute and threw them in the cupboard. Way more towels than we could need, but no extra garbage bags. The tv is worthless because it only has Roku and even though it's described as having free wi-fi, the house gets no internet connection whatsoever. We had to go down to the front office every time we wanted to look something up on our phones or use a food ordering app because it's the only place where you can actually get an internet connection. I had to leave 3 messages asking about this before I got a response and when I did, I got a condescending guy who hates the internet who told us to "just go find something else to do" and a woman he sent to "check it out" who did nothing except fiddle with the tv, get angry, start swearing and put her hand in my husband's face before storming out, all within a 5 minute time span. I booked the house for 5 nights and left 2 days early and have yet to receive any kind of refund.

I would spend more $ elsewhere before I stay again.

The location.

− With some updates and repairs this place could be a gold mine. Didn’t even take the time to unwrap the new beach chairs at the pool. Still tags and plastic on them. Not exactly clean.

Not good value, but safe.

The location was good.

− The hot water took a very long time to come through. The shower head was fixed so you had to stand up against the oposite side to get wet. The toilet "flushed" everytime the neighbours flushed. Everything in the fridge froze and we had get up in the night and take items out to make breakfast. There was a stain on the bedsheet. The towels were almost threadbare. The blinds did not all shut and 1 was not easy to open.

The bed was super comfortable and the room very clean and tidy. The walk to the shore was short and great for our pups after a long day of travel. I enjoyed watching the sunset from the shore when we arrived and we had breakfast on one of the picnic tables by the lakeshore before we left.

− We did have a problem with operating the windows in the cabin and the air was not working. We did get a window in the cabin open and the window in the bathroom and the room cooled off fairly quickly.

The location is nice, the property was very quiet. I liked that it was a little cottage and not attached to anything else.

− The face of the shower flew off of the shower head and would not stay on anytime you ran the shower, so you had two hard streams of water to shower in. There is no outlet in the bathroom and no mirror anywhere else by an outlet. The wifi did not work at all so you could only watch TV by going through the antenna part on the TV and that was a huge hassle every time you turned on the TV. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable and had a ditch in the middle of the mattress. You could not sleep on either side because you would just roll to the middle.
