This place was everything it was cracked up to be and better. I had planned to stay there alongside my girlfriend as part of a birthday surprise, explained this to the staff and was met with very helpful energy. The dinner they set up for her was absolutely fantastic and made her feel special. Room service was equally great, any questions we had were answered and even when something was not possible, it was handled tactfully. I was raised up the road from Whitley Hall (up in Grenoside) and had taken this place for granted so now I can't recommend it enough to anybody who is looking for a elegant place to stay.

− There was honestly nothing about Whitley Hall Hotel that caused issue for us. The staff were very helpful and always went above and beyond with every request.

− A few issues with the room but they were resolved quickly. The bedding feels very thin and in need of replacing

Mooi hotel en een leuke Engelse sfeer. De bar is heel gezellig. De kamers zijn prima, de bedden lagen wat minder vonden wij.

− Eigenlijk viel er niks echt tegen. Er waren 2 bruiloften op de zaterdag dat wij er waren. Ik vond het knap van het hotel (en de gasten) hoe weinig overlast dat gaf. Het was gewoon heel gezellig.

Beautiful setting. Loved the little touch of the port in bedroom. Very comfy bed.

− Drainage was poor and quite alot cobwebs in room.

We booked a one night stay after returning from our honeymoon as a stop over before meeting our family the next day. Booked a reasonable price at around £80 which was ideal and with onsite parking. Checked the reviews beforehand and rates highly. In hindsight, many of the reviews for the restaurant. Check in was smooth, no issues. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the cleanliness of the room. Quite a lot of hair in bathroom and bedding which was really off putting and cobwebs in the bathroom and around the pictures frames. Just left us feeling the room hadn’t really been given a deep clean. We actually avoided using the shower. I should have gone back to reception and mentioned however we were exhausted from travelling and just crashed out. We did sleep well which was a positive. We weren’t asked how our stay was on leaving which was disappointing as this is how I wanted to address our issue. Regardless, it was cheap but you do expect the room to be clean. Not on our return list.
