Superbe emplacement

L'emplacement est superbe : dormir dans l'enceinte de la forteresse est un must, même s'il faut pour cela garer sa voiture assez loin du portail principal (toute la citée est piétonne) et acheminer ses bagages au travers des ruelles pavées. Il ne faut pas être trop chargé mais l'hôtel met à disposition du personnel pour vous aider le cas échéant. Ne pas oublier de monter à l'église Sainte Sophie et de profiter de la plage en contrebas des remparts. La chambre est spacieuse et joliment décorée. Le personnel est très accueillant.

− La salle de bain est vraiment, vraiment minuscule et n'est pas vraiment propre à cause de la vétusté. Le petit déjeuner, servi dans un bar à quelques pas de la chambre, est médiocre avec des produits de petite qualité.

Enjoyable Stay in the Old Town

We had a wonderful stay in the heart of Monemvasia. The location is perfect, with everything within walking distance. Keep in mind that you have to park your car outside the old town, but that’s part of the unique experience of staying inside the castle. The owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They were always happy to help and did everything they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Our room was very spacious, and the view was absolutely breathtaking. Although the room was a bit dated, that’s exactly what you would expect from accommodation in the historic old town, and it added to the charm. Overall, we had a fantastic stay thanks to the exceptional hospitality, stunning views, and unbeatable location.

− There were only a couple of minor downsides. The shower could definitely use some renovation, and the light above the bed stayed on throughout the night, which was a bit disturbing while sleeping. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options. The only disappointment was the coffee. Considering the price per night, we expected freshly prepared coffee made to our preference rather than coffee from a small Nespresso machine with cold milk, which made it lukewarm almost immediately.

Amazing place - rustic but wonderful for a night or two

Amazing location - right in the heart of Monemvasia. Rooms were rustic but well equipped. The whole experience of living in Monemvasia is very special. Heartily recommend Byron's wine tasting bar. The sea swim off the rock platform below is a must (but it is not a beach).

− Not much to not like. This is not your typical hotel. Reception is a shop just inside the castle gate but all the rooms are spread throughout the village. The check in process is like nothing you will ever have imagined. If you are driving then drive up to the main castle gate and unload there while sending someone into reception (through gate, 30m on left)

the location and the view from the balcony

− one of the twin beds had a sagging mattress and both beds were rather old. The room was run-down - not kept up as well as could be.
