You won’t regret staying here pick the cottages though
10.0So peaceful and serene the stars at night are amazing its about 8 miles out of town which is good. We stayed in the of the cottages.

A Great Place to Stay Near Durango!
10.0The Apple Orchard Inn is located in Hermosa, Colorado, about 8 miles north of Durango. There are six cottages on the property and four rooms in the main building. Our room, the Rome Beauty room featured a large stone fireplace, a comfortable king size bed, and a whirlpool tub. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained with an outdoor patio area and a short walking path that goes to the cottages. One of the best features of the property is a large chicken coop with beautiful chickens. There are few things better than waking up at sunrise to the crowing of a rooster! The weather during our stay was unusually hot and the air conditioner in the room was barely able to keep up, but it was comfortable. It would be a great place to stay in the winter with the fireplace. Breakfast is served starting at 7AM and on our first morning there we were offered a nice breakfast burrito. Cookies are available to snack on in the evening. The Inn is owned and operated by Jim and Leslie Cumiford who were always on hand to answer questions, serve coffee, and make breakfast. We met a nice couple from Enid, Oklahoma at breakfast who were riding the train that day. One of the nice things about small properties like this is the opportunity to talk to people visiting from other places. My only suggestion is having coffee available earlier in the morning. By 7AM, I've usually been awake for a couple of hours. A Keurig in the room would be nice.
