Very good
8.0It was decent for the low price. The room is nicely decorated, has a lot of charm.
− Having a screw as door stopper isn't a good idea. Two times i walked on it with my bare feet. Not a pleasant feeling. There is no separation between the shower and the toilet. The jam at the breakfast is far too hard.
Great place to go, well located !
9.0Wonderful staff, very clean and very large apartment
− A bit noisy (air conditioned outside)
Wonderful stay made exceptional by Omani hospitality.
10.0Family owned hotel. Family members and staff were extremely helpful with insights regarding local attractions and Omani culture. Was given a large suite with full kitchen which exceeded expectations. Comfortable bed w/blackout curtains. In lobby, dates from the family’s farm and coffee were available gratis. Would definitely stay again.
− Nothing.
Lovely staff
9.0Very welcoming staff and great hospitality! On my arrival day I arrived at about 12:00h midday with Mwasalat-Bus from Nizwa. Though check-in time is 15:00h I got my room immediately on arrival, which was convinient. Next the recepionist and the cook together helped me to get a taxi to Jabreen Castle. I had to change my room during the night due to some noise (see below), which was solved quickly. In the evening I ran into the hotel's manager in the lobby and she appologiesed for the inconinience. I was very surprised, that she knew, that it was me, who changed the room. That showed, that the hotel is very well managed and that they are taking care of their guests. Food was good (I had breakfast and a dinner buffet). Rooms are clean, beds have been very comfy. Wifi worked well. The hotel is halfway between Bahla Fort and Jubreen Castle. If you have your own transport, the location is excellent. As I don't have a driving license, I had the choice between taxi or long walks (doable, but not exciting). I also used the Mwasalat-Bus for departure to get to Muscat. The bus-stop in direction to Muscat is not signposted - I waited at the junction and as the bus arrived almost on time (scheduled 11:02h, actual arrival 11:06h) I just waived and the bus stopped to pick me up.
− In the night there was some noise, which made, that I was not able to sleep. It was like a sound of a washing machine or a generator - I felt, I would be next to the engine room of a vessel. The noise was not constantly - it was an on-and-off-mode, but it came back again a couple of minutes, after it had stopped. At about 02:00a.m. I went to the reception and asked for another room. There the noise was still to hear, but the volume was much lower, so that it did not prevent me from sleeping. Most likely the noise have been from some A/C on the rooftop. My first room (404) was on the top floor, immidiatly below the source of the noise. The second room (206) was further away and less effected. As the hotel management is caring, I assume they will solve the issue with the noise. Until then or if the problem reappearse, it might be a good idea to have some ear plugs. On the second morning the receptionist was unable to get a taxi for me to get to Bahla Souq and Bahla Castle. I wrote to the hotel beforehand via booing.com that I would need a taxi at 07:30a.m. as I wanted to visit the Friday's morning narket. But no taxi was ready and the receptionist's phone calls have not been answered - he assumed, that the taxi driver is still sleeping. Maybe the situation was partly my fault as well, as I did not remind them on the evening before, that I would need a taxi next morning. Though the staff is very nice and willing to help, the level of speaking and understanding English varies a lot - from perfect to poor. Needless to say, that the communication was better and more straightforward the more the english skills have been better.
It was OK
