Room not acceptably clean and Manager failed to follow through with his promise

The man at the front desk (I believe his name is Alan) was very welcoming and pleasant.

− The room was unacceptable. The bathroom light switch was dirty. Molding was partially removed from the bathroom doorway. There was a stain on the comforter of one of the beds. Shampoo and conditioner were partially used. Fagan agreed to waive our booking.com deposit, because we chose to leave after ten minutes of being in the room. Even though we did not stay, once we left he responded to booking.com that we slept in the room and used everything in the room so he was unable to waive the deposit. I then called him to question why he declined the refund and he told me he has now corrected it and he has approved the refund. I asked him who he spoke with and he told me he has a hotline number for Booking.com. I asked him if he could email me proof that the waive of deposit was approved. He told me he would email it to me right then and I gave him my email address, but an email never arrived. If he was not going to approve the refund he could have offered to have us use a different room, or have housecleaning thoroughly re-clean the room we were in, but he did not offer that. Instead he assured me that he would approve the refund and, as a result, we left the hotel right away.

− The Hitel was falling apart. The only reason we stayed was because it was after midnight and we were exhausted. I've complained to both Booking and the Howard Johson. NO ONE HAS BOTHERED YO CONTACT ME.

Wyndham properties have dropped to such low quality that they should be listed as 2 star.

The bed was very comfortable.

− The property, while being old, could have been more updated. Showering was a frightening experience, as the tub had no texture, was VERY slippery & NOTHING, not even a soap shelf to hold on to. I am elderly & was very afraid of falling so only showered once in my 3 night stay. Breakfast, scrambled eggs were dry & tasteless. No fruit. I'm very disappointed in Wyndham properties. The light coming in all around the door was concerning. I imagine in winter, cold air would be pouring in. I won't be choosing one of them again. I got home to find an additional $117 charge to my account. Manager is working to discover why.
