Brilliant location and honest, exceptional service marred by terrible peak-summer AC.
6.0Location (10/10): Absolutely brilliant, right in the heart of the upscale Golden Square. The surrounding area is filled with charming boutiques and quaint cafes, and the beautiful, tree-lined paths for pedestrians and electric scooters make exploring the neighborhood a real pleasure. Service & Honesty: This is where the hotel truly shines. The front desk was incredibly flexible and understanding with billing. They didn't even ask for a penalty had I decided to check out 2–3 days early due to the AC issues (I ultimately stayed only because I couldn't find an acceptable alternative hotel). They were highly apologetic, and their compensatory gesture of a late checkout and a complimentary airport transfer was deeply appreciated. Housekeeping Integrity: Most importantly, the housekeeping team found and returned my daughter’s expensive diamond earring left in the room after checkout. Commendable honesty. Rooms & Facilities: The rooms are spacious, and the well-maintained gym, pool, steam, sauna, and excellent masseuse were highlights. The in-room landline phone was also great. Dining Atmosphere: Breakfast is served in a well-spaced seating area with great tableware, offering a small but decent selection for non-vegetarians.
− Peak Summer Rating: 6/10 (Would be a 7/10 in non-peak seasons). Terrible AC (The Dealbreaker): The air conditioning was beyond terrible and is the primary reason for the lower rating. The room temperature refused to go below 25°C, leaving us sweating on most nights and making the hotel virtually unstayable in peak summer. The mini-fridge also barely cooled. Accessibility Issues: There is a 25-step climb to the lobby. I had to do a heavy "farmer’s walk" with luggage in both hands for the first 15 steps before a bellman arrived. Management seriously needs an AI monitoring system at the main gate to alert staff the moment new baggage arrives so they can assist immediately. Room Glitches: While the extensive smart lighting setup is a nice touch, the software is glitchy—we couldn't selectively turn off the blinding spotlights directly above the bedhead. Additionally, the three-layered curtains were a workout to move and didn't cover from sides fully. Dated Ambience: It has an older, medium-sized boutique feel—do not expect a modern 5-star chain. The grand, airy lobby desperately needs a refresh; the cheap-looking ceramic tile floor gives it a 3-star feel. The restaurants also require urgent renovation. Poor Vegetarian Dining: Vegetarian options at breakfast are incredibly sparse, making it a no-go for veg travelers. Given that guests from the Indian subcontinent are completely or partly vegetarian, adding a few hot veg options when they are staying over wouldn't cost much but would go a long way in a giving them a good start to the day.
Central and classic hotel
7.0Location is good, some nearby shops not too noisy. Staff are nice and accommodating.
− Absence of services that are catered for families, such as children pool and kids center. Also toilets are not equipped with water washer. Closet doors made noise and need improvement.
