5.0Nothing!! It was a BIG shock to find we were in a "Mining " community. 2 to 3 thousand men coming back to Base, hundred's of Toyota Ute's being parked. Overwhelming!! We were the only "civilians"....
− Why wasn't this Landing Hotel advertised as a workman's hub? The photos showed a normal motel room, but it was actually a dog box. 1 bath towel, (used to being single person quarters!! ). We ate in a mess hall with hundred's of men & 10 women, they looked at us like we were from Mars! One young man asked if I knew the drill! He showed us how to order food & use the Buffet.
