4.0The location somewhat, very handy but having your windows roadside by a bus stop wasn't the best.
− Beds were uncomfortable No restaurant available Access to reception and signing in is behind the times. No tv signal or sky was disappointing No milk for coffee offered. The while place needs a good overhaul, such a waste, ot would be nice if money was put into at least the reception as it looks like it was grand at one point.

− Couldn't find a TV remote. No stress though. And a bit cold.

− Very poor communication. unmanned office - very poor signage. Website said there was a restaurant next door - this has been closed for quite a while. Rang the phone number and got no answer. I suggest BOOKING.COM actually check out this place
If theres no other accommodation in Huntly, sleep in your car!!
1.0The towels were clean.
− The vinyl mattress that the sheets wouldnt stay on,, the fridge that sounded like a helicopter which we ended up moving into the bathroom so we could try to sleep, the TV that didn't work. The noisy plumbing. The fact that every surface was sticky including the carpet. Dont walk around in your socks! The restaurant advertised doesn't exist. When i asked if we could get another room the only staff member we saw, said none was available and showed no hint of customer service at all. I asked if there was somewhere to watch the football and he suggested I ask the patrons in the bar if they minded me putting it on in there ... not good enough! To be fair we were expecting basic having read previous reviews, but theres basic and then theres false advertising! This is false advertising to the extreme and i wouldnt recommend The Essex Arms to my worst enemy.
