Noisy room

The room is fairly clean, shower has basic necessities like shower gel, shampoo, soap, and towels. There is only fridge and small kettle in the room plus TV. Cheap price to have a quick stop on the way from Brisbane to Melbourne.

− The bed was very soft, felt like we were sleeping on the water bed. The shower stank of sewerage after use, sink is tiny and water splashes everywhere when you even wash your hands. But the biggest regret in choosing this hotel was the noise. Constant. From screaming and laughing guests of the Bar/Pokies next door, from cars hooning down the street as the walls of the hotel are paper thin. It wasn't easy to find where to docthe check in after hours as it was dark, not a lot of people around to ask. Also the bar area stank of cigarettes like crazy, in 5 minutes wee spent there my clothes and hair were full of smoke. Do not recommend, will not be back.

Old, but good aircon. Cleaning staff were friendly and helpful.

− Did not know that all Q rooms are upstairs. I would not have booked, having an injured knee. Only 1 quilt on the bed which was not enough. No blankets, no electric blanket, it was very cold. Pillows were very soft and unusable. Room 16 has a broken shower head - is hand-held only, with the only place to put it across the taps. No rugs or carpet. No heater in bathroom. Bathroom window wouldn't open. Exterior - run down, peeling paint, rust, dirty concrete, tar turning to gravel in the car park. Bird droppings everywhere. The photos online are either very old or have been doctored. Very noisy place, shouting late at night, and in the middle of the night. Rooms are above the hotel carpark.

Overall it’s conveniently located and reasonably priced, yet the rigid room change policy and inconsistent room quality

Good value for money overall, and the location is really convenient – it’s only a 5-minute drive to Westfield Shopping Mall.

− The service needs significant improvement. When I checked in, I specifically requested a quiet room. My first assigned room was quiet at first, but the windows offered very poor sound insulation. I then moved to a second room, where the exhaust fan was not working. I switched rooms a third time, only to realise there was an interconnecting door linking my room to the next one. Concerned about potential noise issues from the connecting door, I headed to reception to ask for another room change before any noisy guests arrived. However, I was told I had already reached the maximum of three room changes and could not move again. To make matters worse, the motel was fully booked, so I had no other options. Later, a young couple checked into the neighbouring room and stayed up all night, yelling, laughing loudly, screaming and playing music nonstop. I barely got any sleep the whole night. Overall, I truly believe the motel should revisit and improve this strict room-change policy.
