Riverview better than Windsor Heritage
1.0The bed was clean
− I asked to be moved across the road to the Riverview Motel operated by the same people and paid the extra tariff. The Windsor Heritage room allocated to me was substandard. The room was not clean, the exhaust fan in the bedroom sounded dreadful, and dead flies on windowsill. In addition a holding deposit of $100 was taken twice and despite two emails requesting a refund I have not received the refund.
It was cheap but unfortunately a little nasty.
3.0Not a lot to like. There were 2 beds. (Twin room). It was “heritage” but it hadn’t been updated or improved in quite a while. Vague instructions to get to my room. ( A Good Samaritan who lived next door gave me better assistance than receptionist). It was next to city centre and Windsor is a wonderful historic site.
− Reception was actually across the road. Receptionist was very rude when I tried to settle a booking problem and actually walked away at one point. The room was dusty and didn’t smell “clean”. The remote (TV) didn’t work. Nor did the light above the desk.

1.0The only positive was the location. It only took a minute or two to walk to the town center.
− The room had obviously only had the bare minimum clean. The room, bed and blankets had a musty, stale smell. The bathroom was the same and we were not game to use the shower. Only two small, thin towels were provided and no bath mat or hand towel. The tea/coffee making facilities were dirty.

Not what I expected.
5.0Affordable
− Dirty hadn't been cleaned by the looks in a long time. Left over chips in a draw half full baby's sippy bottle under the bed. Stains on floors. Next to no hot water when we got home late night for a shower. Directions are.crap reception not even onsite you find out when you get there. You also find out they want $100 deposit for the key when you get there too and then have to wait a few days after you check out to get it back. Luckily we could afford that.
Pretty dirty motel , avoid if possible

− Checked in at around 10:30pm and was told there was a $25 late fee . Was asked to pay that in cash as they like cash . Yeah straight in the pocket , so paid it with card .
