4.0The Coach House Inn was in a convenient location- it was right across from the Bright Brewery and within easy walking distance of the main streets of Bright. It was great being able to walk to the Christmas store, lolly shop and eateries given that it was very busy and parking was difficult. The room was a good size. There was a kitchenette, table and chairs for 2 plus large king size bed. Bathroom was clean and large bath towels were provided.
− We booked this accommodation for its convenient location, but unfortunately the stay was memorable for reasons we hadn't anticipated. The room itself had a few quirks. There were some stains on the outer bedding, and the mugs appeared to come with complimentary coffee stains around the rims. The mattress was so soft that sleeping felt less like being in a bed and more like being slowly absorbed by a marshmallow. Comfort levels may vary depending on your enthusiasm for sinking into the unknown. Parking deserves a special mention. We were informed there were "plenty" of parking spaces behind reception and in the laneway. This appears to be a very flexible interpretation of the word plenty. For around 18 units, there were approximately 5–6 on-site spaces, while the mysterious laneway parking seemed to exist more in theory than in reality. Street parking was limited, making finding a spot feel like a competitive sport. The biggest issue, however, was the noise. The guests above us appeared to be training for an Olympic furniture-moving event, complete with door-slamming and mysterious scraping noises until 2am on the first night and 11pm on the second. Unfortunately, reception was closed whenever I attempted to seek assistance, so the mystery of what exactly was occurring upstairs remains unsolved. It's a shame because the location is excellent and we visit the area often. Sadly, we'll be looking elsewhere next time—and packing earplugs, just in case.
