Great staff, good breakfast, close to Fairbanks, not far from Chena Hot Springs.
9.0The staff was very friendly. I left a bathing suit in the room and they called me to let me know and said they would mail it to me. The breakfast was very good, enjoyed the coffee. The location is good, near Safeway and Starbucks and restaurants as well as Santa Claus Lane. The room was spacious and it had a kitchenette which was nice. The price was fair for a last minute booking. We drove to Chena Hot Springs which was a straight shot from the North Pole. Highly recommend the hot springs. Hotel is also close to Fairbanks.
− The hotel is a little dated. The rooms were very plain. The view from the room was the parking lot. I didn't like the smell of the air freshener, kind of like a nauseating Febreze. It would be better if it smelled like Christmas.
Clean and quiet.
9.0Nice clean hotel.
− Didn't live up to being hotel north pole. All the pics show it decorated for Christmas. When you arrive and the only thing Christmas is a few figurines around the fireplace it's kind of a let down. That was the main reason we chose this location.
Too expensive to be ran out of there before our time was up. Won’t be back!
7.0Location was great!
− Had a great check in experience with the braided beard guy (native Texan like us). I can’t say the same for the short dark haired guy this morning. My reservation stated check out time is 11:00 am. At 10:40 am we were gathering our things to leave and we hear someone beating on the door. I said someone’s in here, mind you I had the do not disturb sign out on the door as well. All of the sudden the front desk guy opens the door to our room and yells you have 15 minutes to leave. My 17 yr old daughter and 19 yr old son were in the room with me and any one of us could have been changing clothes. I was so in shock that I had the kids gather our luggage and take it to the car. I approached the guy at the front desk at 10:47 and asked him what time checkout was and he said 11:00 am. I asked him why he opened the door to our room and he said it’s the hotel’s policy. He said he called us on the room phone twice and because we didn’t answer he came up to enforce the check out time. I told him our phone never rang and he said that’s not his problem it’s the policy. I told him my concern that any one of us could have been changing, especially my daughter and that it was 10:40 am. He yelled if you don’t like the policy then you can leave and pointed to the door. I asked him his name and he yelled leave right now like I am in the wrong. I don’t understand the urgency to get us out, there were barely any other guests there staying and now I know why.

10.0Pretty good all round. Pricey but then Alaska accommodation tended to be expensive.
Lovely hotel
9.0Lovely little hotel. Lots of communal lounge nooks and a decent breakfast.
− More patio furniture in the summer would be nice when the sun is bright on the one side of the building.
In a car park
7.0Friendly staff
− Everything was disposable, cups, plates, loads of plastic and no signs of recycling
