Had a fab stay for a week with my boys.

10.0

I wanted to write a review as so many people have put negative reviews. We have just returned from a fabulous week. The staff were super helpful and friendly. Reception staff in particular had some incredibly rude people to deal with and did a great job. Animation staff were friendly and kept my boys entertained all week. The staff in the restaurant work so hard to keep up with clearing tables. More staff would be beneficial with this. A big selection of food was available so you have plenty to choose from. Bottles of water are given out as often as you need. The water park is brilliant and such an added bonus. The lunch available there is delicious. The grounds of the hotel are kept immaculate and it’s a beautiful space. The rooms have everything you need and we had a fridge that didn’t work, but with a quick call to reception it was sorted quickly. For the price we paid for the holiday it was exactly what we were looking for.

Larger family holiday review

6.0

We’ve just come back from a week at the Aqua Mirage Club and it’s a bit of a mixed bag. There are some really good elements, but also a few frustrations that took the edge off the stay. The aquapark is definitely the highlight. There are loads of slides, they’re good quality and, unusually, there were no queues at all. The wave pool was a big hit with the kids and is very well supervised. There’s also a heated pool, which was useful at this time of year. The sports facilities are also very good, with a proper 4G football pitch, tennis courts and a basketball court all in great condition, although equipment needs to be hired with a cash deposit. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the interconnecting setup worked really well for us as a family. Housekeeping was consistent and the air conditioning worked well, with temperature control from 16°C upwards. The bathrooms are a bit dated but everything functions as it should. The only downside was that noise carries quite easily, especially from corridors and evening entertainment. Food was generally good in terms of quantity and consistency. There’s always plenty and it’s kept hot and fresh. Breakfast in particular had a lot of choice, although the drinks are quite basic. Lunch at the poolside snack bar is convenient but can mean waiting around 15 minutes at busy times. The biggest downside for us was how busy everything felt and how that affected access to services. Sunbeds are effectively gone by mid-morning, it can be difficult to find a table at meals, and queues for food and drinks are pretty common. It feels like the hotel is running at full capacity. Drinks were another weak point. Only local spirits are available, and although branded bottles like Jameson and Haig Club are on display, they’re not actually served. Beer and wine were fine, but nothing special. During the day, beer is only available at the snack bar and not at the main bar, which means you have to go to specific locations to get certain drinks. There’s also no clear signage explaining this, so people end up wandering around trying to work it out. Water also has to be collected from bars rather than being readily available. The way the hotel is run also stood out. Staff seem to stick very strictly to their individual roles, which means things like clearing tables or restocking don’t always happen quickly, even when people are around. There’s plenty of entertainment and the staff are friendly without being pushy, but some of it felt quite basic, particularly the kids’ disco. The evening area is large with lots of seating, but the sound system is very loud without always being clear. One small point worth noting is that the spa only accepts cash. Overall, there’s a lot here, especially for families with younger children, and the aquapark alone will be a big draw. However, the experience can feel quite effortful at times due to queues, limited access points and how busy it gets. We will probably look elsewhere next year.

Good value, not special. Perfectly fine.

The stay took place during the first week of April. The hotel appeared to be operating at or near full capacity during this period. In the main restaurant at breakfast, coffee and juice machines ran out of glasses and these were not replenished quickly. Guests at busy times had difficulty finding tables, particularly larger groups, and table clearing and resetting was slow. Sun loungers around the main pool were generally fully occupied by around 09:00 to 10:00. Later in the afternoon, some loungers became available. The aquapark area provided additional space but did not have food or alcoholic drinks available. The hotel includes a heated pool. The aquapark contains multiple slides, many of which are rubber ring-based, and there were no queues observed for these. There were multiple lifeguards stationed at the slides. The wave pool operates for approximately 15 minutes each hour and is supervised by two to three lifeguards. The main pool depth is approximately 1.15 metres. Toilet facilities are limited in number. At the main pool there are two toilets, and at the aquapark there are also two toilets, located some distance from parts of the area. Toilets were observed to be clean but basic. The poolside snack bar serves food such as cheeseburgers, chicken burgers, chips and paninis. At lunchtime, queues of approximately 15 minutes were observed. A separate snack offering is available later in the afternoon (around 15:30), including rolls and pastries. The main restaurant requires guests to change out of swimwear, which results in higher usage of the poolside snack bar during the day. Breakfast includes pastries, pancakes, yoghurt, cereal, eggs, sausages and hot dishes. Food was observed to be hot and replenished. The grill station had queues of approximately 10 minutes. Juice is dispensed from a machine using syrup, and coffee is dispensed from a machine using powdered mix. Moroccan mint tea is available and served in a traditional style. Guests staying more than seven days are offered access to an Italian restaurant and a Moroccan restaurant. The Italian restaurant provides table service. The food served was similar to that available in the main restaurant. A children’s option is available. The Moroccan restaurant was not visited. During the day, beer is available at the snack bar but not at the main bar. The main bar serves local spirits and soft drinks. In the evening, beer becomes available at the main bar. There is no clear signage indicating where different drinks are available. Bottled water is available at bars but not widely distributed elsewhere. Guests must obtain water from bar areas. Branded bottles such as Jameson and Haig Club are displayed behind the bar but are not available for service. Only local spirits are served. No premium spirits were observed to be available for purchase. Beer and wine are local. Beer is served in approximately 330 ml glasses and wine in approximately 200 ml measures. At busy times, limits are placed on the number of drinks served per person, and queues form at the bar. The main bar is the only bar serving the main evening area. The aquapark does not allow alcohol. A snack bar within the aquapark serves soft drinks and food such as sandwiches and pizza from 12:30. Ice creams are available for purchase at an additional cost. Entertainment takes place in the evening in a large seating area. Activities include bingo and quizzes. These are delivered in multiple languages. The sound system is loud but voice clarity is limited. Soft drinks in the evening are self-service and syrup-based. The children’s mini disco starts at 20:30, and the main show follows at 21:30. During the disco, security staff are positioned around the dance area. The kids club operates from 09:00 to 12:30 and from 15:00 to 17:30. Activities include face painting, dance classes, football and basketball. The gym is available for guests aged 16 and over and contains free weights and machines. The machines are older and not well maintained. Sports facilities include a near full-size 4G football pitch with lighting and goals, six tennis courts, a full-size basketball court and a mini-golf course. Equipment such as rackets and balls must be hired using a cash deposit. Rooms are available with interconnecting configurations. Rooms are cleaned daily, with towels replaced. Linen is clean. Bathrooms are functional with hot water and adequate pressure. Air conditioning is available and can be set from 16°C upwards. Ground floor rooms provide direct outdoor access. Noise from corridors and evening entertainment can be heard within rooms. The spa operates on a cash-only basis.

All Inclusive additional payment

8.0

Be warned, if you have a pick-up time after 3pm they insist you wait in reception and can not go into the hotel, or you have to pay a ludicrous amount of money. This isn't acceptable when you have paid All Inclusive. The rest of the stay was good for a large resort hotel. The animation team were brilliant. Sort out the additional payments and you may actually get more people staying.

Could be so much better

4.0

Some positives, views and gardens, but overall there was just too much that ruined our stay. Hotel is very bureaucratic and restrictive policies get in the way of relaxing and enjoying a holiday. We all got ill, hot buffet was tepid, drinks revolting. We ate out as much as possible. Awful smell morning and evening from the water treatment

Overall a good holiday ruined on last day - avoid!!

2.0

Would strongly advise against this hotel, had read the reviews and came anyway but it's true, hotel forces people to pay additional charges on departure Firstly - as with many people, we had an issue with the pool towels, you pay 150 each as a deposit, when we returned them they had lost one of the cards we exchanged to get them. You have no evidence of how many you exchanged at the beginning and so was an hour of arguing to get the money back. We had heard others had issues on check out so went well before our pick up and had a nightmare! They said we hadn't paid the tourist taxes when we had to on arrival when we had. After some time arguing they agreed their fault and we could leave. A bit stressful but thought we had got everything resolved until we then did try to leave... It seems they purposely wait until pick up time and then they refused to let you go, despite earlier saying we could all resolved. We booked through Easyjet but they don't have anyone on site, we spoke to them who advised we should either walk out or pay and they will investigate. After 30 minutes of arguing with extremely aggressive staff (especially Jaamal) and being refused exit by security guards (horrible for a family with 3 young kids) and easy jet saying we should just leave we ended up paying. The evidence on their system was obviously wrong (was totally fabricated) and the number we supposedly owed changed every 5 minutes, there is clearly a reason why they don't give you any receipt and make you pay by cash rather than card, it felt very much like a scam rather than an honest mistake, especially has it seems relatively common and the aggressiveness of the ordeal. Such a shame they try and get a quick profit from screwing people over once they have no choice - it was either pay something that was clearly made up or miss our flights. Absolutely horrific end to an ok not great holiday.
