Terrible stay at Pearl Grand
2.0We stayed at Pearl Grand Hotel last week, and unfortunately, our arrival experience was very uncomfortable. During check-in, we met a staff member named Piyal who took our luggages. Right away, he told us that the room assigned to us was “not good” and not suitable to stay in, but didn’t clearly explain why. Without us even seeing the room, he went back to the reception and arranged a different room on his own. We trusted his suggestion and went to the new room. However, once inside, he didn’t leave as expected. Instead, he stayed in the room and started asking for a tip as I think, saying that the original room was damaged. This was confusing and made us feel quite uncomfortable. Even after I gave him some money, he still didn’t leave and seemed to expect more. At that point, I think I had to firmly ask him to leave and close the door. My wife was also very uncomfortable during this whole situation. Sadly, this experience really affected the start of our stay. It’s disappointing because first impressions matter a lot in hospitality. I hope the management looks into this and takes necessary action to prevent similar situations for future guests.

Super friendly hotel and centrally located
8.0The most valued thing is the friendly and helpful staff at Reception, the restaurant and room service and cleaning. To me it's indeed a 3 star hotel but with 5* service. Amila, pictured here, made beautiful, adorable towel art for me, which I found very touching. He always attentively asked me if I needed anything in my room too. First class service! Also, Gayan, the technical man was really helpful too. The breakfast buffets I enjoyed a lot as there was much variety, although one has to be careful re any added chilli! 😄 I have truly enjoyed my 2-week, half board stay overall. Service is king and this hotel did not disappoint. Thank you everyone at the Grand Pearl Rathna hotel. 🙏🏼💕
