5.0Very good location, nice place to see the stars, good space, it was nice to have a kitchen in the room.
− They overcharged me for the dogs. The website mentions that the cleaning fee for each dog is $25 but they charged me $35. Thank goodness I checked their website so I asked for a refund. They were not transparent, so keep an eye on this if traveling with pets. It was so cold I could see my breath, so make sure you request extra heaters if traveling in winter. The pillows were stained, likely due to age but it’s something they should easily replace.

10.0Tino Ataahua! Such a beautiful location, peaceful tranquility with birdsong and lush green native forest surround. The manager and staff had the best hospitality. We had dinner at the on site restaurant which we thoroughly enjoyed, along with great batista coffee in the morning. The chalet was warm amd cosy and felt like a home away from home. An absolute gem in the deep south, we will be back!

− Cold, uncomfortable beds, right on road. Other units may differ but this one very basic. Expensive. I get that its out of the way and a convenient mid point but could do better. Food was available but quite expensive and very average.

7.0Quiet, secluded place in the Catlins. Cafe/restaurant was open.
− Most expensive and greasy frozen pizza I ever had. The chalet was very cold; had not been heated for some time.

− Everything was kinda average. Just minor stuff that if fixed would make a difference. A broken kitchen cupboard handle, empty salt and pepper shakers, terrible shower. It wasn't bad, it wasn't good, just average.
