Conveniently located, but lacking comfort

Convenient location for trips to Algonquin Provincial Park. A charming house with a more than 100‑year history (including the fact that it isn’t perfectly sound‑insulated).

− “No shelf in the room (we had a room with 2 separate beds; looking at the photos and ratings, the rooms seem to be very different in terms of equipment). The air conditioning was improvised and loud. The (nicely large) fridge was also noisy, to the point that we turned it off.

Very pleasant stay. Will definitely stay there again.

Hotel is a historic building. It has an on site restaurant/bar with a patio. The restaurant is managed by a separate owner but it is very good and very convenient to have it on the bottom floor of the hotel.

− As mentioned, the hotel does not operate the restaurant, however, the service in the restaurant was extremely slow. They were also out of almost every Belgian beer, which is the niche they are promoting. Perhaps the hotel owner could speak to the restaurant owner about this, as it does detract from the overall experience.

J'ai tout aimé de mon séjour au Balmoral. Liz, la propriétaire, a été très accueillante dès mon arrivée. On m'a bien informée des lieux. La chambre était extrêmement propre, fraîchement rénovée et contenait les essentiels de salle de bain, brosse et pâte à dents inclus. J'ai bien aimé le bar à café ouvert toute la journée à notre convenance. C'était pratique aussi d'avoir un code pour la serrure plutôt qu'une carte! Plus d'oublies! L'emplacement de l'hôtel est parfait, à distance de marche de tous les attraits du village et plus bas, du bord de la rivière. Même en voiture, c'est à environ 20 minutes seulement de d'autres lacs et plage. Merci à toute l'équipe, je recommande absolument!

Mit liebe gestaltetes Zimmer. Für die durchreise super mit Restaurant im Haus. Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt.
