Our stay was amazing!
10.0We had an absolutely amazing stay at the Convento. My husband and I travelled from Ottawa with my 89 year old mother. She was able to manage the stairs easily. The ambiance and character of this old yet beautifully renovated convento added so much to the experience. The pool was lovely, the staff were fantastic and the breakfast food was delicious. We absolutely loved every minute of our 7 night stay. Make sure to ask for the tour of the building. You will see the state it was in after a devastating fire. The owners and town raised money to save the buildings and restore it to its original condition. We whole heartedly recommend this boutique hotel!

10.0Merveilleux endroit. Relaxation garantie. Il n'y a pas de lieu plus accueillant et plus paisible au Portugal. Le déjeuner avec des produits locaux est le meilleur de Sao Miguel. La restauration de l'edifice est impeccable. Expérience incroyable. À deux pas de tout. Profitez de la crème glacée du parc près des églises en soirée pour une expérience locale. Le café et les gâteaux disponibles toute la journée. Meilleur endroit de Sao Miguel.

A beautiful place run by beautiful people
10.0A hidden gem, no less. A beautifully kept historical building, not spoiled with any kitschy faux-luxury items so often encountered in other places of this kind (gilded faucets, ugly lamps, artificial flowers etc.); just raw stone, spacious halls, cozy nooks and crannies - really smartly arranged space. Tea, coffee, cake and fruit available 24/7 in the breakfast room. Lovely vegetarian breakfast from quality products (is it the same every day? Yes, but boy is it good). The homegrown pineapple is to die for. The economy room in the side wing was good value for money, with a very comfy bed (yes, you can hear your neigbours as they pass the hall, but as there are only three rooms on this floor, this really isn't an issue). I was worried that wifi might be patchy, with those thick stone walls, but it was perfectly reliable. Nice pool and garden, a very convenient location; overall: just perfect. Ah, and the host - great vibes.
