10.0This is our third stay at Mooiplaas. It is excellent all round. We have booked again in August.
Helaas geen aanrader
6.0Mangers waren aardig en de (betaalde) rondleiding op de farm was wel leuk.
− De wifi was verschrikkelijk. Er waren verschillende wifi kanalen. Onze kamer viel Net tussen alle punten in dus ene moment op de ene wifi kanaal en werd je er uit gegooid en moest je weer verbinding maken met een ander kanaal totdat je daar na enkele minuten weer werd uitgegooid. Het restaurant in de koudere tijd was heel ongezellig. We waren er eind april. Een glazen kooi waar we met de rest van de gasten, allemaal Hollanders, zaten. Het menu was vrij duur. Locatie ligt ook vrij ver van centrum (15 minuten) om elders naar restaurant te gaan. Zwembad zag er eind april ook niet schoon uit Vloertegels in de kamer met cockpit spray ingespoten leek het wel. We gleden zowat uit in onze kamer en alle stof en viezigheid van onder je schoen was natuurlijk gelijk zichtbaar op de tegels.

9.0Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön gelegen und die gesamte Anlage schön angelegt und gepflegt. Vor dem Zimmer und vom Pool aus sieht man Strauße. Im Hotel kann man eine Tour durch die Farm buchen. Man ist mit dem Auto in 10 min in Oudtshoorn und Umgebung. Wir hatten ursprünglich nur ein Zimmer im Nebengebäude buchen können, aber dann sogar eines im Hauptgebäude bekommen - gut für uns, denn wir haben beides angeschaut und der Hauptkomplex hat uns auch vor Ort viel besser gefallen. Unser Zimmer war schön, riesengroß, sehr komfortabel und sauber. Das Personal ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück ist gut und bietet eine große Auswahl.
− Was für uns überhaupt nicht stimmt ist Preis und Leistung beim Abendessen. Wir haben am ersten Abend in Oudtshoorn gegessen („Nostalgie“, super!!) und dann aufgrund der geschlossenen Restaurants an Ostersonntag im Hotel. Die Portion war eher klein und es war insgesamt auf unserer gesamten Südafrikareise mit Abstand das teuerste Essen. In keinem noch so guten und schönen Restaurant auf unserer Reise hat das Essen je so viel gekostet. Ganz gut geschmeckt hat es, es war aber im Vergleich mit dem sonstigen tollen Essen am Abend zuvor und auch sonst zu vernachlässigen. Noch dazu ist das Restaurant bei größeren Reisegruppen sehr beliebt - an sich nicht schlimm, aber wir sitzen lieber in einem lokalen Restaurant mit tollem Essen und passendem Preis, als neben zwei großen, lauten Reisegruppen, teurem und geschmacklich „nur“ mittelmäßig gutem Essen.

6.0Staff are fantastic and breakfast was great.
− I think Mooiplaas was overbooked and we were shoved off to "The Annex", which is not set up to handle rain in terms of access to the rooms, gutters are rotting and falling off, meaning you have to dodge waterfalls. I have stayed at Mooiplaas before and the room we stayed in this time does not compare to the room we stayed in last time. Not worth the amount we spent and we will not be back.
