Had to leave because they were standing there waiting on me to check out and she made them leave.
1.0Nothing. I called prior to the stay to double check if my emotional support service dogs were allowed due to PTSD and they said yes. As soon as we walked in we were social profiled with a classism as no good by Margaret. She said we had to fill out paperwork for our two ESSD dogs. So I started writing that my dog supported me for my anxiety about trusting anyone. My son was murdered five years ago by his wife. Whom I trusted for 13 years. Anyways, Margaret started yelling at us telling us to leave that the dogs can't be there. "She screamed leave now, leave now"! So when I asked for her boss she said they weren't there and I said then get them on phone because I doubled checked before I brought them and now they weren't allowed to stay. I talked to Amy(her boss) and Amy let us stay. Now, once Amy gave Margaret the news, Margaret got really upset and told us the dogs weren't allowed anywhere in the motel without us and we weren't allowed to leave the room without our dogs being in our arms. They were not allowed to be left along in the room. Mind you, I had doggie diapers on them the whole time they were in the room. So we left the hotel to sight see and had our dogs with us. My group consisted of twelve people, my other son, his wife, and four of my grandsons. My husband, me and the son who got murdered we now have custody of his four kids. It cost us around $1500.00 to rent two rooms for two nights. We were also told our dogs could not be up on the third floor in our sons room at all. So if we wanted to go up to our sons room we would had to take our dogs to our car and leave them. We went to dinner and guess what. Our dogs were allowed to be in the restruant with us. We went into a store and the dogs were allowed. So after a couple of hours we decided to go back to the hotel. We walked in and every employee stared at us like we were criminals. The whole group went back to my room to decide what we were going to do next.
− Breakfast in the morning or if we go swimming what do you do about the dogs? So with my dog in my arms I went up to the desk and asked Margaret what were we to do with our dogs while we were eating breakfast or swimming and she replied" They have to be with you at all times, not my problem". So I went back to the room and told them what she said. Since my husband said we should just go home but I was not going to ruin our vacation so my son said why don't I take you back home and you can leave the dogs. We agreed and was leaving to take them home. I had them in my dog stroller and a family walked in front if us just as we were turning the corner at the elevator and my little five pound chinchilla barked once and Margaret came from around the corner from the breakfast area were she was entertaining a group of people that wheb we last by there were starring us down. So Margaret was yelling, that dog is vicious, we cant have vicious dogs in her. There is no barking allowed. Mind you, when I talked to Amy, I stated my dog would bark if someone got near because she senses my anxiety and knows to bark to warn me of someone getting close to me. Also she barks if I pass out due to anxiety. So as I was saying we were leaving to take my dogs home. So my dogs were at the hotel for less than two hours. So then the rest of the weekend was like being in hell! When we were at the hotel we were watched like we're trash and didn't deserve to be in this hotel. Now at checkout, my husband was so angry that we were treated like we were that he went up to Margaret and told her she needed to check the room. ( I forgot to mentioned that Margaret told us at check in that there would be an additional $150 added to our room for cleaning after the dogs). So he told the co-worker next to Margaret (Andy), go check the room and Margaret said no he cant do it neither. So she called five housekeepers down and they went and checked the room. IT WAS CLEAN!
This is not the first or last bad review they will get from the public in Margret!
1.0Breakfast made me sick on Saturday. Felt nauseated after eating it.
− Margaret the front office person was very rude and obnoxious. She yelled at me and my family constantly! She treated us like we were trash and didn't belong there, like we should have stayed at a cheap hotel. My husband is a disabled veteran and he has never been treated as bad as this at all. We believe this is how veterans are treated at the Wallhouse hotel in Walnut Creek Ohio. My grandchildren got to watch her treat my husband and myself like we were little children yelling at us every time she seen us. This is the worst vacation I have been on. Margaret turned our vacation into a nightmare we was staying in hell. I would not recommend it to anyone. We are now trying to resolve this with Ascend properties.
I highly recommend staying at The Wallhouse….you will not be disappointed!
10.0Everything…from Margaret’s cheerful welcome to her “come back and see us” as we left for home. This was not our first stay at The Wallhouse. We go back every time we visit Holmes County because it’s very clean and quiet and conveniently close to restaurants and shopping. It’s not outrageously expensive either. I especially like the in-room recliners as opposed to a desk and chair or sitting on the bed to relax after a long day.
− There wasn’t anything to not like!
