10.0Our stay at Ikurangi Eco Retreat was wonderful from start to finish. The staff were warm, welcoming, and very accommodating. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and set in such a peaceful environment. The retreat itself is beautifully maintained—the pathways are swept daily, and the gardens are kept lush and immaculate. One of the highlights was enjoying breakfast each morning on our balcony—such a perfect way to start the day!
Great spot away from the main road

Nice but a bit overpriced
6.0Nice but a bit rundown. We had a good time and I prefer Ikurangi to a large busy hotel, but I think for the price it is in need of maintenance. We stayed in a traditional room. These were spacious and had a lot of privacy. But a few things were broken, rusting etc. We also had about 4 paper wasps come in our room every day even with windows and doors closed (they weren't aggressive but a bit unnerving). Vicky and Alan were great. They gave us spray for the wasps, and lots of useful information on arrival. Everyday Alan makes a new breakfast. They are not large but were always delicious and waking up each day to a new surprise was a joy. So we had a nice time. Hopefully they can do some maintenance to get the place up to a resort standard, or lower the price. We paid $250 per night. But based on other places we stayed in Rarotonga and the Pacific, I think $190 would be more appropriate.
