Een wrang gevoel
5.0Prachtige locatie! Een overweldigend gevoel wanneer je het Mandapa betreedt. De kamers zijn prachtig en het personeel is enorm vriendelijk! Het eten is ook heerlijk!
− Toch wel enkel minpuntjes: in de namiddag wilden we graag even uitrusten aan het zwembad maar helaas zijn er te weinig bedjes. Er is een prachtige Spa, maar we moesten gans onze planning aanpassen want er is heel weinig beschikbaarheid, terwijl alles niet echt goedkoop is. Het fine dining restaurant idem, bij aankomst wilden we direct het restaurant boeken maar het was geen enkele avond meer beschikbaar tijdens ons verblijf, echt jammer. We hadden het hotel op voorhand betaald bij onze boeking, en na de eerste dag kwamen ze zeggen dat we het nog eens moeten betalen, dat ze het geld niet ontvangen hadden. Gelukkig hadden we betalingsbewijs, en was het uiteindelijk in orde. We zijn er met een wrang gevoel vertrokken. We hadden uitgecheckt uit onze kamer maar mochten nog gebruik maken van de faciliteiten tot ons vertrek, wat gebruikelijk is bij andere hotels ook, maar we kwamen van het zwembad bij de check out, en ik vroeg waar ik me mocht omkleden want had men strandjurk aan, hij begeleide me met men koffer naar het toilet van het dichtstbijzijnde restaurant en ik moest me maar omkleden in de toiletten! Dit was zo’n domper! Normaal wordt er nog een ruimte voorzien met douche maar hier NIKS! Dit heb ik nog nooit meegemaakt dat je je moet omkleden in een klein toilet en verwacht je ook zeker niet van zo’n hotel nadat je duizenden euro’s betaald hebt.

10.0A Soulful Riverside Paradise — Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve After spending two wonderful days at The Ritz-Carlton, Nusa Dua, we moved to Mandapa, and it truly felt like stepping into another world — a hidden paradise in the heart of Bali. Mandapa is not just a resort, it is a wellness sanctuary, something incredibly rare to find even globally. The entire experience is designed to slow you down, reconnect you with nature, and immerse you in the beauty of Balinese culture. Our river-facing room was absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to the gentle sounds of the river flowing through lush greenery was deeply calming and unforgettable. The outdoor bath was a beautiful addition — soaking in it surrounded by nature felt like a private spa experience. We chose Mandapa to celebrate our daughter’s birthday, and the team truly went above and beyond to make it magical. From thoughtful room decorations to special celebrations at the restaurants, every detail was handled with such care and warmth. It felt personal, heartfelt, and incredibly special for our family. The resort itself is stunning — expansive rice fields, serene river views, and touches of authentic Balinese culture everywhere. The traditional dance performances added a rich cultural charm, making the experience even more immersive. Dining was equally exceptional, especially at the exquisite Ambar, a Michelin-star-level experience, and the Indonesian cuisine restaurant which beautifully showcased local flavours. What truly sets Mandapa apart, however, is its people. A very special thank you to our caretaker, Parmini, who was simply outstanding. She is truly an asset to the resort. Her warmth, attention to detail, and the extra effort she took to coordinate everything for us made our stay seamless and unforgettable. It is because of her genuine care that we would return without hesitation. Mandapa is more than luxury — it is tranquility, culture, and heartfelt hospitality all in one.
