Uncomfortable and embarrassing cuz I booked it!! I feel robbed!! Would never recommend as is!!

The cabin was mostly nice structurally but it had dead bugs everywhere and even spider nests on some walls. Lots of fly poop on the main glass door in kitchen. Dead bugs in cabinets too. The place looked like it had not been cleaned for two years. Nobody came in to clean it right before our families arrival like should be done when a booking is made. . I was VERY disappointed with the hosts for not addressing previous complaints and had even told them I’m giving them a chance to prove the others wrong (seen reviews after we booked) and that I’d give them a chance & a great review if those problems were taken care of and we would not have the same problems. We did sadly! My brother & SIL and nephew arrived at the same time my family (6 of us total) and we all did not want to stay after we scoped around for a bit! We had to clean the kitchen tables and countertops with a cleaner right away upon arrival that we found under the kitchen sink, that was just so we could bring stuff in and unpack. We had to clean fridge & freezer right away too so we could unpack our coolers. We had no water pressure right away so even cleaning was going to be an issue since we didn’t have water pressure. That was taken care of and fixed the next morning as we sent messages to the hosts as soon as we could. They need to hire cleaners before someone’s arrival. Their standards are not good for renting out places! They told us people could deal with a few bugs since we are out in nature anyway. I just don’t want bugs and dust all over where We eat & sleep! They are elderly and should not be in charge of the cleaning! I have & so does SIL lots and lots of pictures to back up our complaints with the issues with the place!! I feel totally robbed of the amount of money we gave them before our arrival and what we got for the product in the end! I could get 3/4 of that $$$$ back and feel like that would have been priced right!

− HIRE A CLEANER TO CLEAN BEFORE PEOPLE ARRIVE!!! Take away the mower from the front where the rest of the antiques are displayed. It looks like ya just got done mowing and parked it there! Probably more I’m forgetting right now. Glad it’s over but it caused both families to have a BAD EXPERIENCE and even people leaving early!! I wish I could bill them for damages and the troubles!!!

It's a very quiet and peaceful area.

− 1. The place is absolutely filthy and is in need of a very deep cleaning. 2. There was so much dust and dirt that it set off my daughter in law’s allergies and she went into AFIB and had to go to the emergency room. 3. More than half of the electrical outlets don’t work at all. 4. All of the junk that was on the concrete pad outside was an eyesore and should be removed if you’re going to rent the home to people. 5. The towels and sheets are not even fit for use. They’re threadbare and more like rags. 6. The sink in the downstairs bathroom was falling apart and barely useable. 7. The mold around the tubs and showers is disgusting. 8. The toilet in the bathroom downstairs leaked all over the place and needs to be replaced. It was leaking from the bottom of the toilet, so it’s not from overflow. We understand that hard water can cause staining, but that was not the issue. 9. There is a giant stain on the carpet at the top of the upstairs that should have been removed and cleaned up prior to occupancy. 10. The road is in dire need of repair. It’s barely passable. 11. If the property had been inspected prior to our stay we would never have rented it. 12. I reached out to the owners to discuss all of these issues and they never responded. I'm pretty sure they even blocked me as I tried to email them and the message bounced back. Sad we couldn't resolve this in an adult conversation.

Loved our stay. Close to everything yet away from it all. Pat and John were very quick to respond and joy to work with. This is a great stay and we will be back’

We managed as we were out sightseeing from morning till evening.

The Moose dish set was nice and plentiful. The porch and porch swing were enjoyable to look out over the woods. The beds were comfortable, except the bunk beds were a bit rickety and that bedroom was dusty. The location was close to areas of interest.

− The smell of sulfur every time we used the water was off-putting. The downstairs had a damp musty smell, but didn’t set off our allergies. The towels, mats, and bedding were quite old and stained. We went out and bought towels to use and better liquid soap. There wasn’t a vegetable peeler. It could have been cleaner and more updated for the price.
