10.0This place is amazing: An old building with old furnishing (pictures, photos, furniture décor), full of character. The neighbourhood is very safe, with lots of restaurants and bars (as well as some shops, art galleries, even a theatre) in very easy reach, and an easy walk from the Malecón and downtown Guayaquil. The staff were very helpful. Breakfast was fine. But again, it is the building that is the star here: an exceptional place in an exceptional location. Highly recommended.

10.0Mansion del Rio is like staying in a museum. We had a great time. It was close to Malecon 2000 as well as the revitalized Santa Ana area along the river. Staff were great, and the breakfast was very good.

2.0The room was not ready when I arrived and had to wait in a steamy hallway. No electricity for 12 hours per day. No water, no internet. Access when it gets dark is very complicated… Avoid it.
