Emplacement et staff

− Un peu sale, le robinet et la douche marchaient pas très bien.

− Las fotos que publica el hotel no son las del estado actual de las habitaciones. Las fotos lucen con habitaciones decentes, aceptables, con pisos y paredes agradable pero la realidad es muy distinta, fotos engañosas y los comentarios que aparecen con las imagenes en la portada no dicen lo que en realidad es el hotel. El olor del cuarto era horrible a humedad, las lamparas feas, tienen muchos focos quemados, piso feo, reparaciones mal terminadas, el hotel esta muy descuidado, habia un nido de murcielagos afuera de las gradas de mi cuarto, jardineras descuidadas, grifos oxidados de lavamanos. Me dio hasta asquito usar las cosas de la cocina, de hecho por eso no use nada de la cocina. No recomiendo el hotel. Empezando por la recepcion, horrible, desordenada, muchas cosas apiladas. Adicional, hay una salida de agua sucia que atraviesa parte del hotel y ocasiona mal olor. Creo que el señor Foster deberia de considerar vender mejor el hotel porque se ha descuidado mucho de el. Les comparto fotos para que se hagan una idea de lo descuidado que esta.

The location is the only good thing .

− The bungalows are old and have not been updated in years so it seems. Customer service is non existent. It very sad that this is the only black owned property on the island and has been passed down from generations, it has so much potential to be a great place but the lack of care is so obvious. The beds are old and tilted, the smell of mold reeks, water damage galore, they new a whole need power grid so expect to have hours long of blackouts, the restaurant is a robbery, so do pay the water taxi 5$ to travel to the west end to eat. The employees do not care about a damn thing, the office is rarely open. The sewage needs to be replaced but instead the doodoo water just runs into the ocean. The pool is atrocious , the jet tub 😂 probably hasn’t been used since the 80’s. I’ve stayed in hostels and have had better experiences. The lack of empathy and communication from the employees needs major adjustment. They’re only friendly upon check in and helpful. But once the power shuts off they all pretend to not know what’s happening. And they also need to invest in a back up generator , flashlights , candles, solar gadgets or something because lord forbid there is a real emergency! They wouldn’t be able to provide basic emergency needs. I could go on and on but save your money and book elsewhere. The pictures do not match the reality.

Decent clean room, but nothing exciting.

Room was clean, AC worked well, and water was hot and pressure good. Beds are comfortable. Right on the beach, which is nice, although the beach and resort gets VERY crowded when cruise ships come in (which is often). Front desk was very helpful with arranging taxi to airport and allowing us to leave our luggage when we arrived before check in.

− The one bedroom bungalow is basically a one room unit with 3/4 walls dividing the kitchen and bathroom. There is basically no "sound" privacy, as you can hear everything from every room. The kitchen is very basic - stove and fridge are nice, but the cookware is very limited. No frying pans, no spatulas. Also, there are no places to sit except outside (which is HOT) or on the beds.

The location was incredible and close to everything you could want to do in West Bay. The staff members were welcoming, attentive, and friendly. It is a family run hotel that has been around a long time, and we loved speaking with them and learning about the history of the hotel. The rooms were large, clean, and well-appointed, with thoughtful little touches to make guests feel special. The beds were comfortable and having kitchen facilities in the room was very convenient. We loved our first room (beachfront bungalow) but we had an issue with an odor coming through the air conditioning vent because if its proximity to the boat dock. Mr. Foster himself (who was usually on site) did not hesitate to make it right, and upgraded us to an even nicer room, and he even offered to buy us breakfast!

− The bathroom shower could use a little updating, and sometimes they played the music a little too loud in the bar area, but otherwise, no complaints!
