Luxury Pricing, Diminishing Value
4.0I’ve been visiting Shangri-La for quite some time, and it’s disappointing to see how much the prices have increased while the portions have noticeably reduced. For example, last year a pot of tea cost around ₹500 and was sufficient for two people. Today, the same tea costs around ₹800, yet the quantity feels much smaller. Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem to be limited to just the tea—it’s a pattern I’ve noticed across several items. It gives the impression that the focus has shifted more towards maximizing revenue than ensuring guests feel they’re receiving good value for what they’re paying. Shangri-La has always been known for its luxury and hospitality, but true luxury is about making guests feel valued, not just paying more for less. As a regular visitor, I find this change quite disappointing.
