Not a reliable hotel
2.0They cancelled on us 2 weeks before our visit. most of the good hotels are booked in the region now. Not only no compensation but because of exchange rate differences we'll get less money than we paid to reserve it. We are left choosing between hotels without dinner, hotels without onsens, and a ryokan 3x the price.

10.0My husband and I spent one amazing night here after hiking Mt Fuji the day before. We didn't know what to expect at our first Onsen but Kusatsu Onsen Buon exceeded our expectations. It is conveniently located by Yubatake Hot Springs and Sainokawara Park. It has a very zen and peaceful atmosphere. We booked a 90 min full body massage at the hotel and the masseuses were spectacular. They addressed every aching body concern after our hike! The breakfast was also plus. I would highly recommend them to my friends and book a stay with them again!

Nice place not overly crowded
10.0This ryokan is close to the bus terminal and main square yet not too massively big. There were still crowd control with limit on maximum number of person in each onsen so it was a pleasant experience with about 3-4 persons in the onsen when we visit during our stay. Dinner and breakfast (excellent) were delicious. Only 1 check-in/out staff speaks minimal English and she used google translate to help during communication - we managed fine. Meals were in private dinning room and staff who spoke good English explained the various courses. A pleasant experience. We stayed in the traditional room without bath and it was clean and comfortable. Would recommend!

The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare requires all international visitors to submit their passport number and nationality when registering at any lodging facility (inns, hotels, motels, etc. ).
