7.0The location of the hotel was exactly what we needed.
Not a Palace but all the basics.
8.0We were not sure what we expected, looked Ok from the web. When we arrived we were made very welcome and shown to our room so we could leave our bags and have a walk around. The focal point was the bar which had a good atmosphere. The Harp Freehouse and Guesthouse is I would say 15-20 mins walk to the waterfront which has a number of good restaurants and gastro pubs. Breakfast is do it yourself and quite basic. Car parking was a bonus. For the money it was OK.
− Not much. The bedroom was on the smaller size but comfortable. For one night stay is was OK.

10.0I booked The Harp last minute due to a family emergency and was able to book a double room for 2 nights. I have stayed here previously, so was hoping it would be available! All I can say is superb! Everything about this Guesthouse is fabulous. Clean, value for money, facilities are all you need and staff exceptional! Teresa made us feel so welcome and went above and beyond to support our stay. I had to book an extra room as family were joining me, and accommodating us was no bother at all, even though they were really busy! I will always try to book here before anywhere else when I come down to Ipswich again.

This is a small family-run Guest house that has a check in time from 16:00 to 19:00, reception is manned during these times. Check in after 19:00 is possible when payment has been taken and the guest has made contact and the property will provide a code to get in to the building.
Please also note that the property only sell a self service breakfast at GBP 6.00 per person and it needs to be booked before or on arrival.
