We really enjoyed our stay at Boutique & Fashion Hotel Maciaconi. The location is excellent, with easy access to everything Santa Cristina has to offer. Our room was cosy and comfortable, and we particularly enjoyed the hotel’s stylish and welcoming common areas. The pool and spa were a great bonus and added to the relaxing atmosphere. The staff were friendly, professional and very helpful throughout our stay. We also appreciated the possibility of charging our electric car conveniently in the hotel garage, even though this was at an additional cost.

− There were a few small details that could be improved. We would have appreciated complimentary water and glasses in the room upon arrival; instead, we had to collect glasses from the bar. Also, although we were three people sharing the room, we were initially given only one key card. We had to wait until the following day, when some guests had checked out, before we could get additional key cards.

− Breakfast for a 400eur/night could be better - more variety and better food quality. Anyhow this is the result of big demand in the area - whatever they do they will have always customers. Also, staff not very consumer oriented, just normal doing their job like an obligation and that in hospitality is a killer.

− The hotel’s location is lovely, and the bed is comfortable. The cleanliness is good too. But one simple problem is enough to turn all these positive aspects into negatives. There’s no glass in the room. It doesn’t matter if it’s glass, plastic, porcelain or paper. There’s no glass in the room. Why isn’t there a glass? There are two reasons. Either the tap water is harmful to health—as it’s recycled, treated water—and they’re concerned about guests’ health. Or it’s so they can sell water from the hotel bar. I considered the first option, but I didn’t see any signs anywhere saying ‘Do not drink the water—it’s harmful to your health’. So I reckon the reason there isn’t even a glass in the room is that they want to sell water from the hotel bar. I checked the bar prices: a bottle of water costs 6 euros. I couldn’t believe it. Water is a basic human need. For 6 euros, you won’t find water in any luxury restaurant in Ortisei. The maximum is 4 euros. I went up to the top of Seceda, and water was 2 euros. At the hotel where I was staying, it was 6 euros. This is unacceptable. The Italian tourism authorities should impose sanctions on businesses that charge such arbitrary prices. I drank water straight from the tap with my hands because the price was too high. And my stomach was in knots until morning. Apparently, the water flowing from the hotel’s tap isn’t fit for human consumption. Why isn’t there a warning that it’s unfit for consumption! This is a very interesting issue. There’s also the sound of woodworms gnawing at the wood, but this isn’t a major problem. After all, it’s not easy for the hotel staff to clean out the wood from the inside. It’s puzzling that the management isn’t taking this situation seriously, despite the water and glasses being the subject of so many negative reviews – or perhaps it’s just an old-fashioned way of running a business.

Superb location for the town, a bus stop outside. Friendly staff, excellent breakfast. The room was lovely and comfortable, bathroom large. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub facilities too

− It's disappointing there's no kettle in the room and they charge for hot water for making tea. It was also very hot, the room has no aircon and they were not able to provide a fan. I've been waiting for 3 weeks for a receipt, it's a shame the excellent customer service in the hotel itself doesn't extend beyond leaving the property
