If travelling via Vicksburg then a stay at the Duff Green Mansion is an absolute must!
10.0Loved this old hotel, with all its original features. The tales of ghost sightings and its Civil War background were fascinating. You could really feel the history of the place. Very central near to downtown. The host was extremely friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.
− I wish we had stayed longer!
Beautiful home, friendly staff, great city!
9.0The staff was incredibly friendly. Georgia never made you feel rushed, and lended a helping hand whenever needed. Laurie was great at making sure we checked in easily, she gave an amazing historical tour of the home. Harley kept us updated with texts on what to expect, Breakfast time, evening wine, tour time, ice location etc. I did not catch the names of anyone else but there were lots of staff available to help throughout our stay. Coffee machines (kcup) coffee cups, are available on each guest floor. Water was always filled and cold in a glass water dispenser on each guest floor. Breakfast was served with southern pleasentries, towels were delivered to our room promptly, and we managed to leave a favorite stuffy behind..they saved him for us and were ready to mail it back, thankfully we were coming back through Vicksburg and were able to personally pick it up! The home was beautiful, I felt safe the entire time, we listened to birds chirp the breeze blow, swam in the pool and truly enjoyed the town! ALSO note that vicksburg offers a "passport" if you visit 5 places and get 5 stamps you can collect a Vicksburg t shirt for free, my famly planned to visit these things anyway, so the shirt was a bonus. The Social on Grove St. is a MUST eat restaurant you WON'T regret it!
− The ice for the bottom floor is in an ice chest outside, this was melted and not good for us. There is an ice machine upstairs in the guest kitchen! Wish I would have known while we were there. There is a mini (enough for two alani's) fridge in the room we stayed in,but it did not keep anything cold. There is a fridge in the guest kitchen upstairs, I would have used it if I had known. Breakfast was a fun experience, but our family was still hungry afterwards. Small dish of fruit and a biscuit first. Plain Grits second. Quiche (one person got sausauge and cheese, the rest of our family got spinach and cheese) slice, but it was small with a piece of bacon third. Dessert, pound cake with whipped cream and a slice of strawberry for the final. The biscuit was fantastic, the fruit was fresh, the grits were not my favorite, the quiche seemed like store bought, the bacon was perfect, the cake was good. Our family was looking for more buiscuts and gravey, eggs, toast, bacon. They had Orange juice, cranberry juice, coffee, and water available to drink with enough glasses for everyone. My daughter did get a glass with lipstick on it still. I would still stay here, I would still attend breakfast, it was still a fantastic experience! Just some things to note that could help your stay be even better!

Lovely home with an interesting history.
8.0The staff were amazing! Loved hearing the history of the mansion.
− It was a bit hot for sleeping and during breakfast. There could have been a little better cleaning in our room.
