− The room’s carpet had an overpowering smell that was difficult to ignore. To combat this, I brought in my car’s scent diffuser and sprayed some car odor neutralizer to change the room’s scent. However, to make matters worse, the fire alarm went off (it was a false alarm), and the front desk wouldn’t pick up the phone. (At other hotels, at least they would pick up the phone to inform you that it was a false alarm.)
