7.0The location it was ideal for where we were exploring. The food in the Brassiere was exceptional and pricing was good. Easy parking
− Paintwork etc just a bit tired around the whole hotel. The spa area is seperate to the hotel - there is a main road to cross.
Attractive property, great location for a walk in the countryside, mixed results from the kitchen.
7.0The property is very attractive, with lovely gardens. We were able to enjoy a lovely walk to Strid Woods directly from the front door. Our ground-floor bedroom was spacious and comfortable. My breakfast was excellent, especially the quality of the bacon, sausage and toast. My partner's veggie breakfast wasn't quite so good.
− A minor dislike: Our ground-floor room overlooked the garden and lacked privacy because other residents were nearby and could potentially see into our room. The bathroom was tiny and required minor gymnastics to climb into the bath/shower. Our major disappointment was dinner. The staff were perfunctory, and not very attentive. My steak was tiny, not well cooked, and the chips were hard. Our meal was poor value for money. Note that dinner is served in a different restaurant to where breakfast is served.
Lovely hotel, we would have stayed another night if they had a vacancy
8.0Location, relaxed, pleasant walks
− Not enough chicken chicken and leek pie, mistake with cheese board spoilt lunch for one of us but staff helpful

9.0Lovely building and excellent staff bar was slow no one available to serve us , twice but overall great place
Memorable stay at Devonshire Arms
9.0The staff, the views, the walks. Lovely room, stylishly decorated and comfy. Ambiance, service and food at Brasserie and breakfast was great. The hotel was very dog friendly, and recommended good local walks for us with our dog. Overall excellent experience. We will be back!.
− The bathroom was very tight, and tricky to get out of bath/shower.
Lovely.
9.0The historical lounge area with the antlers displayed. Homemade flapjack in the room was absolutely delicious. Though it was nothing special I found the pancakes and cheese selection in the breakfast exceptional
− Nothing
