− The hotel was freezing cold and it took 15 minutes to find someone to check in with - a grumpy young woman who I had to go behind the bar and knock hard on the kitchen door to find. She was also rude when we came to order food. All the rest of the staff were nice though. A bus of guests arrived and kept their coats on throughout their time in the bar. The heating finally came on at 1.30am. Dangerously hot towel rail in the bathroom almost scalded my grandson and hot water from the cold tap. Strange smell of stale cigarettes from the water in the bathroom too.

− Shower in the room was scoldingly hot.The room had everything but all a bit scruffy.
