Good facilities spoilt by too much focus on "Gastro pub" and not on the core hotel features.
4.0The staff were friendly and helpful. The bathroom had good facilities and the room was large.
− Very poor value for money. The breakfast in particular was very disappointing. No cereals available, or buffet, everything ordered from a menu. Whilst the menu was very broad and stylish, I waited 40 minutes for scrambled eggs on toast (despite there being only 3 other guests in the lounge) and what arrived was a small portion. I found out at check out that I'd been charged individually for the eggs, a croissant, orange juice and two coffees, totally £29.75. As a guest I wouldn't expect to be charged the same rate as a walk-in, especially for the coffee! The bed was hard and lumpy. The plumbing has issues; there was severe knocking through the pipes when another guest turned the water on or off. The bedroom door was so loose it banged every time another room was opened or shut. The acoustic "musak" all day was loud enough to be obtrusive and annoying even during breakfast.

4.0Location. The outside area looked ok
− Carpets filthy in corridor & in the room , pillow protectors one missing one stained. Mattress protector looked shabby. Musty smell in room. More shabby than shabby chic Corridor to room very cluttered with cleaning equipment etc. the whole carpet in the Inn needs replacing. The music was loud in the room. The owner / manager ?? Didn’t introduce herself- said we should expect music ‘as it is a pub’. When I complained I was met with denial- we have an excellent housekeeping team and never have bad reviews. Sent them an email with photos- no response as yet
