Misleading advertisement, unacceptable hygiene and extremely poor customer service.
1.0Unfortunately, there was very little that I could positively highlight because the condition of the room and the way the complaint was handled overshadowed the entire stay.
− The room was in an unacceptable hygienic condition and looked very different from the photographs used in the advertisement. The bed linen did not appear to have been changed, there was an unpleasant smell from the bed, and we found hair underneath the pillow that did not belong to us. The towels, bathroom and floor were also dirty. Based on what we personally found, I strongly recommend that future guests carefully check the sheets, pillows and mattress before using the bed. I was left with the serious concern that the bedding had not been properly replaced after the previous guests. When I raised these concerns, the owner was dismissive and extremely arrogant. He showed little interest in accepting responsibility or offering a reasonable refund, despite the photographic evidence and the fact that we were travelling with a young baby. Guests who encounter similar conditions should take photographs immediately, request the official Livro de Reclamações and report the matter to the appropriate Portuguese tourism and consumer authorities ASAE . Hygiene, honesty and respectful customer service should be basic requirements in any accommodation business.
