− Demasiado estrictos con todo, hay un millon de reglas, todo es muy complicado, solo se puede pagar con efectivo y hay que dejar deposito, nunca nos habia pasado. Hubiera preferido quedarme en un hotel que aca. Es demasiado caro para lo que es.

Location, close to beach

− At first, the host was very kind and welcoming during check-in. Unfortunately, our experience changed significantly after we raised a concern about the room's air quality. The room had a strong moldy smell, and I began experiencing physical discomfort, including a reaction and excessive mucus. We politely asked if the issue could be investigated, such as checking or replacing the air-conditioning filters. Instead of sending someone qualified to assess the issue, the host sent her young son (approximately 8–10 years old) to "resolve" the situation. We respectfully asked to speak with an adult regarding the concern, after which her husband came to our room. The interaction that followed was deeply upsetting and completely unacceptable. Rather than discussing the issue professionally, he raised his voice, called us "scammers," and spoke to us in an aggressive and hostile manner (we were 3 females) The communication felt emotionally abusive and intimidating. We were simply expressing a concern about the room conditions and trying to find a solution. We also noticed that the bathroom did not appear to have proper ventilation. Instead of venting outside, the airflow seemed to direct air back into the bedroom. When we brought this up as another concern, her husband again reacted aggressively, yelled at us, and called us "crazy." In over 10 years of using Booking.com, I have never felt the need to leave a negative review. What made this experience especially disappointing was not the maintenance issues themselves, as problems can happen anywhere, but the way we were treated when we raised them. We never requested a refund or made unreasonable demands; we simply expected respectful communication and a willingness to address concerns professionally. A host's attitude and treatment of guests matter just as much as the property itself, and unfortunately this interaction completely overshadowed and ruined our vacation experience.

Cute bed and breakfast managed by a friendly family. Location was close walk to restaurants and the beach. Breakfast was very pleasant and served fresh on our balcony every morning. Would recommend!

J'ai tout apprécié de l'établissement. Excellent service, excellent déjeuner, excellente situation géographique (assez près de la plage sans être dérangé par le bruit le soir et la nuit). Je recommande vivement! Merci aux hôtes!

Die Besitzer sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, wir haben viele Informationen über den Ort und Unternehmungen bekommen. Die Unterkunft liegt in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße, aber es ist trotzdem alles im Ort gut zu Fuß zu erreichen.

The perfect escape in busy tamarindo

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Nauticus in Tamarindo and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. This charming boutique hotel is perfectly located just two blocks from the beach, offering easy access while still being tucked away from the busy, more crowded parts of town. It was the ideal balance of convenience and tranquility. We traveled with our 7-year-old son, and the pool was definitely a highlight for him—he absolutely loved it and looked forward to swimming every day. What truly sets Villa Nauticus apart is the hospitality. The owners are incredibly kind and welcoming, and they go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. Their knowledge of the local area is outstanding—they gave us fantastic recommendations for restaurants and activities that really enhanced our trip. The room service was excellent, and every detail of our stay exceeded expectations. Everything we could have asked for—and more—was taken care of. We would absolutely stay here again
