Fantastic Lodging in Rockport
10.0Glen Cove Inn is convenient, well appointed, clean, quiet with a lovely breakfast on the deck. The staff are attentive and kind and want to help you anyway they can... We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights and will definitely plan to return next year.
One night in Mid coastal Maine
8.0This was a perfect choice for our one night mid week get away to Maine and did not break the bank. Rooms were clean as was the refreshing pool. We paid the small extra amount to have a private outdoor area and so glad we did. It was a serene spot to hang out. Continental breakfast was a bonus and the check in/out staff were awesome.
Not a bad little place….quaint, clean, but small accommodations despite upgrading to deluxe.
8.0Cute little motel. It’s clean but a bit dated. It was surprisingly quiet and I say “surprisingly” because it reminds you of the old fashioned motor courts of old. All in a row. Separate entrances to what look like a glorified motel. Yet it was extremely quiet. We did not partake of the free breakfast so we can’t comment on that. From what we could see, breakfast was offered on an outdoor patio enclosed by plastic type covers in the event of bad weather. It was chilly during our June visit so maybe that could be an issue? But in all fairness, we did not try because we were visiting family on this visit. It felt remote and not close to town although we were assured that town was close …..but that was also the beauty of it. The grounds were pretty. Hot water worked fine. The bed was comfortable. The climate control was good. The room was a bit small considering we “upgraded” to deluxe. I honestly didn’t think deluxe was worth it - the tiny porch was ok but no room has any kind of view. Our view was the parking lot lol. Everything was expensive in that area but we ended up going through the website to “get the best deal” but these sites then add fees, taxes, etc so all in all “deals” don’t really exist. Days before our trip it appeared there was better pricing than what we received which I mentioned to the manager on checkout. He did not “seem” to understand me but it was water over the dam at that point. I would stay here again. However, I would check out some of the other competitors to get a more spacious accommodation in the future.
Filthy room
2.0The room was dirty. There was an ice bucket on the table that was covered in a greasy mess of leftover food. There were no tissues or hairdryer . The room was rundown. The the walls had visible dirt chipped paint. This was the room they offered after the room I booked was unavailable. I had stayed here before and had a very good experience. I blame in part to booking.com because It was prepaid.
Excellent stay
10.0Very clean rooms, well manicured, good breakfast, comfy bed and pillows, friendly staff.
Dirty and infested with spiders. I have no idea how it has good reviews.
2.0Yes, you have to sign a no-refund contract. But getting an unhabitable room should void that. I was in town for a doctor's app. and booked a room for 3 nights. We ended up just staying a few hours, and only stayed that long because it was storming and too dangerous to drive. The first thing we noticed was spiders. Then, how dirty it was. Not old or needs updating, kind of dirty, but no one has bothered to clean it this year dirty. Gunk and smudges on the bed, chairs, tables, and walls. The first thing we did was get our luggage off the floor so we didn't get any insect passengers. My husband had driven 5 hours to get there and was so exhausted that he fell into bed and went right to sleep. We noticed later that he paid for it with a few spider bites. I didn't sleep, and neither did my son. In the morning, we went to turn in our key and told the employee our issues with the room, and we would like a refund. They were friendly and said we would have to get our refund through booking .com. But now Booking is telling me they are disputing the refund and can't come to an agreement. So tough, I guess. I emailed and left my phone number to try to settle the matter privately, and they didn't bother to contact me back. I'm at a loss as to what to do.
