10.0Very warm, humble and welcoming accommodation. Felt like staying at a family’s house rather than a hotel. Felt nostalgic.
No frills guest house
4.0Location v close to JR station, great for Shimanami Kaido. Seemed like they probably have great parties. The vibe was nice
− My main concern was that we were in a (very cute) attic room reached by a steep staircase in a wooden house with no fire escape plan. I was worried about what would happen if there was a fire. I'd have felt better if there were a fire escape ladder provided, as I've seen in other guesthouses. The proprietor may think I'm neurotic but I think it's reasonable even for a no-frills guesthouse such as this to think about fire escape planning. No towels as standard and the proprietor took a while to respond to messages about to well hire which meant I and my son had to use our own towels which were wet from swimming. Arriving in the dark it wasn't clear where the waste bins were....they were obvious in the morning.
