Just spent three days at monkey dive... I cried the first evening... No hot water. Not 24 hour reception. Room flooded first evening.. Moved to another room and to be honest not much better. The room smelt. Would not recommend :-(

Fiquei num bangalô, este bem amplo e confortavel! A parte ruim é que praticamente nao tem funcionario na recepcao, até na hora de ir embora dxei a chave com um recado!

The photographs online are exactly what the lovely new monkey dive hostel looks like. This is where there are dorm rooms, great facilities and a very lovely atmosphere. The second monkey dive hostel is down on the main street and looks a bit older. it has basic fan rooms, with cold showers inside which are clean and comfortable to sleep in. No frills but absolutely perfect for the price. However, the bungalows which i booked where an absolute nightmare for me. If you have an aversion to bugs, cockroaches, beetles, ants ect then don't book the bungalow. They are more expensive and have aircon and hot showers but there are so many gaps under the door and around the windows that naturally in the jungle they are full of creepy little insects. On arrival we went into the bungalow and there was an ant nest and a couple of cockroaches. I couldnt cope so the very nice man working allowed us to change to another one. it had even more creepers in there so after alot of tears from me he agreed to move us again.this time to the before mentioned fan room. This was a solid cement type room, nothing fancy but it was really a god send for me! I would like to point out that if you are not bothered about insects then the bungalow would be fine. and the staff were super nice (Although I am sure they thought I was crazy ). they organised a taxi for us last minute to the airport when ours didnt show and were generally very sweet and helpfull when we were organising dive trips ect

Located just outside the Old Town border, this was a clean and comfortable room. Shower had pebbles on the floor to give it a natural outdoor feel.

Downgrad ins Schwesterhotel Monkey YOLO

Wenn man sich ein Hotel aussucht und dann in ein "schlechteres" Hotel abgeschoben wird, kann man nur enttäuscht sein! Wir hatten das "Monkey Dive Hostel" gebucht (Nebenstraße, schöne Umgebung mit Garten und Aussenterasse, neues Gästehaus, schöner G-Bereich, Frühstück im Garten möglich, heiße Duschen, Shampoo/Duschgel vorhanden). Uns wurde mitgeteilt, dass wir aber das "Monkey Dive Hostel YOLO" (ehemals Seaweed) gebucht hätten!? Begründung: die Adresse bei Expedia für unsere Buchung bei Expedia gehört dem Monkey Dive YOLO (Seaweed)! Monkey Dive YOLO: älteres Gästehaus an der Hauptstraße (laut) und in einem "Zwischengang", altes Bad, kein Frühstück vor Ort möglich (keine Lebensmittel vorhanden), Kein Schampoo, kein Duschgel, nur kaltes Wasser wir hatten schon bemerkt, dass die Adresse, die bei Expedia für das Monkey Dive hinterlegt ist, bei Google Maps nicht zum Monkey Dive gehört. Vor der Anreise haben wir versucht, das Problem mit Expedia zu klären, Die Antwort war, dass wir die Buchungsbestätigung (auf Deutsch) nochmal zugeschickt bekommen haben. Am Anreisetag war das Monkey Dive komplett ausgebucht und das YOLO hatte auch nur noch ein Dreibettzimmer (Charme einer Wartehalle) für uns frei. Buchung war aber frühzeitig vorher erfolgt !
