− I booked this apartment solely because Booking.com advertised it as having air conditioning, even though it was much farther from the city. Apparently, on Booking.com, "air conditioning" means the unit is present—not that it actually works. We were repeatedly told to keep the windows closed so the AC could work. We did, and we were left suffocating in unbearable heat because it never cooled the apartment. Opening the windows for fresh air wasn't a realistic alternative either. The apartment sits above a café, so the noise from loud, often drunk customers went on late into the night, and leaving the windows open also meant dealing with bugs. We were essentially forced to choose between unbearable heat or an impossible night's sleep. The staff's only response was to repeat the same ineffective instructions instead of acknowledging that the AC simply wasn't working or offering a real solution. What's most disappointing is that Booking.com advertises amenities without making any effort to ensure they're actually functional. I accepted a less convenient location because I trusted the listing. If a working air conditioner is the reason someone books a property, simply installing a broken unit shouldn't qualify. I expected better from Booking.com, and that trust was clearly misplaced.

The location was beautiful

− There was no clear way to park or to access the property by car. We should have done more research before arriving, but some information up front on where to park and how to get luggage to the unit would have been helpful.
