Beautiful hotel, stunning mountain views, fantastic breakfast
10.0We booked last minute so they had little advance notice, but the manager/caretaker was nonetheless extremely friendly when we arrived. We could park at the property (if coming by car, DON'T FOLLOW GOOGLE MAPS as those roads are narrow, steep and impassable; instead follow real signs from the village center!). The rooms are huge and gorgeous, with beautiful furnishings. The property sits high up in the village, so the windows and balcony look over the whole village and mountains beyond, it's truly stunning, especially at sunset. At the same time, it is only a short walk into the historic old town center (with stairs). The room was well equipped, including raki, and they even let us stay late and shower after our hike, as there were no new guests arriving. It is on the hiking route up Mount Karfi. Breakfast was enormous and delicious. This was a highlight of our time in Crete.
