2.0The location of this inn is scenic looking out the Michigan Lake on top of a bluff. This was the reason why my wife and I decided to stay in this inn. But we had a very unpleasant check in experience. The room that was given to us was NOT the one that we paid to hotels.com. We booked and paid for an upscale lake-view room having a jacuzzi and a view to the lake. The room that was given to us had no jacuzzi, no view to the lake, and dilapidated interior facilities and stinking smell. When I talked to the receptionist that a wrong room was given to us, she replied that when guests book an upgraded room through a third party booking sites such as hotels.com, they still get the cheapest room. A total nonsense. And she said that to get an upgraded room, like one I paid for, I must paid an up-charge. Not to stay a night in a stinking room and to ruin a vacation, I paid the upcharge to get a room that I already paid. A bitter experience. The photos below are the cheap room given to us initially.
