10.0The room was beautiful with a patio that overlooked the lush hillside. The dining area was pleasant and the food was good. The onsen, however, could stand some refurbishment. The hotel advertises late checkout but I was told that 11:00 am constitutes late checkout. This seems like a bit of a scam to me. Made my departure more rushed than a I planned for it to be.

FYI - All the rooms allow smoking!
6.0We were unaware that all the rooms allowed smoking. The hotel has been renovated, but still has dated furniture and the stench of smoke all over. The garden was beautiful and the outdoor hot spring was amazing.
A great place to stay.
10.0I don't know if it was because our visit was following 3 days in chaotic Tokyo but I haven't felt as relaxed for months when I had checked in here. The staff were so kind and helpful. Our dinner was a series of Japanese delicacies served one after another with complete patience. the rooms are great and they put out your futon and put it away again without you even being aware. The garden is beautiful and fills you with peace. wonderful.
