We agreed to every rule on the booking site. Nowhere does it state you’re allotted 1-2kWh/day!
2.0Location was great. Breakfast was not included.
− 6 continents, 110 countries visited. Be Still is one of our most disappointing stays to date. The apartment is approximately 500 sq. ft., constructed of concrete with single-pane windows. The only provided heat is a small wall panel heater that is far too small to adequately warm the space. We bought a small portable electric heater just to keep the apartment around 65°F. (The temperature range on June 24 was 50-59°F and this particular room gets no natural direct sunlight) The apartment operates on a prepaid power meter. We were told to notify management when the remaining credit dropped below 5 kWh. We did, and were told we could either pay for more electricity ourselves or go without. 1-2kWh/day is what they believe is “normal” usage. *Their wall heater alone: 425w X 24 hrs=10.2kWh). After explaining that electricity is a basic utility that should be included in an $80/night rental, management reluctantly added a small amount of credit. The following day, when the meter credits were again low, we reached out for additional electric credit. Although our request showed “seen” in the text log, we were ignored and there was no response nor action taken. After 1.5 hrs we appeared in person to request more electrical credit. They refused to help unless we purchased additional credit ourselves. Faced with the prospect of spending our final night without heat, lights, hot water, and refrigerator, we had no choice but to pay. The cost involved was small ($6). The principle was enormous. The hot water was equally inadequate. After one normal shower, the hot water was exhausted, and even two hours later it had still not recovered. In practice, the apartment only provides enough hot water for one shower every 6–8 hrs. Bathroom isn’t ventilated Holding paying guests responsible for essential utilities after check-in is unacceptable.
