A brilliant hotel for the price, couldn't fault it at all.

The owners were extremely polite and helpful, taking the time to point out some important parts of the city, including restaurants and attractions. Nothing was too much trouble. The location of the property is perfect, and a brisk stroll will take you from there to the other end of the city in around 30 minutes. On our two night stay it was so quiet that it was as though we had the whole hotel to ourselves! Cleanliness was superb, couldn't fault it at all, and the decor fit right in with the character of the hotel.

− The TV was broken. That's all I could find at fault, but that wasn't really a fault as we used the room as a base for our exploration of the city and, when we were in the room, we used our mobile devices rather than the TV anyway (doesn't everyone now?!)

Charming historic townhouse hotel next to the town wall

1) Old townhouse transformed while maintaining the historic, very traditional style and decoration - this is not a modern chain-hotel! Has it's own historic charm. 2) Lovely breakfast room, we didn't try breakfast but it looked very nice 3) Charming staff - family run business 4) Private parking 5) Right next to the York town wall - you can start your work there :)

− 1) Parking spaces are small and limited but we were lucky and everyone was considerate 2) No air-con, you are after all in a historic building 3) TV was somewhat historic - but you don't go there to have a movie night in your room ;)

Breakfast was freshly cooked while we helped ourselves to fruit, yogurt and juice. Staff were very pleasant.

− Not really hotels fault but the ceiling fan in our bedroom was ineffective in the heat.

10 minute walk into the centre, beautiful b&b. Will definitely stay here again.

Our stay was a lovely villa that was traditionally decorated throughout with a quaint english style in the bedrooms. We stayed in room 3 on the top floor, a fairly spacious room, spotlessly clean with all facilities needed. We stayed during a heatwave so the room was very hot, our hosts however had put a large rotating fan in for us, which we was very grateful for. Off road parking was available, we arrived fairly late & still managed to get parked which is a huge plus point being so close to the centre. Breakfast was a superb experience, in particular the beautifully dressed table. The hot food was cooked perfectly too. Our hosts were also amazing & very knowledgeable about the city & how to get around.
