Great apartment with gorgeous view

We loved our stay here. It was clean, spacious and comfortable in a great position close to everything in the resort. What stood out for us the most was the gorgeous view of the bay from the balcony: the host Marcella's helpful advice and support; the great pool; the access you have, if you like walking, to other stunning beaches. We used the local buses to visit the towns of Mahon and Citudella which were both lovely. We very much hope to be back.

Superbe séjour a Cala Galdana

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour de 7 nuits chez Marcela. Tout s'est parfaitement bien passé. L'appartement est idéalement situé, très bien équipé et nous n'avons manqué de rien. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié la piscine, qui a été un vrai plus pendant notre séjour. Marcela a été une hôte très attentionnée, disponible et aux petits soins du début à la fin. Nous recommandons cette location sans hésiter et y reviendrions avec grand plaisir !

Great apartment, great place for a lazy summer holiday

Our apartment was comfortable and had a large verandah with views to the beach. We enjoyed our stay and made good use of the swimming pool. There is a shared room where the washing machine (which we didn't use) and things to borrow/use for the beach/pool (small portable chairs, inflatables, etc). We did a lot of cooking and eating at the apartment. The apartment is very nice and had pretty much everything we needed. There was a heatwave while we were there and despite no aircon, we kept cool by keeping the shutters closed during the day, and opening the windows and using the portable fans at night. The apartment is a short walk down steps to the town and the beach. There is a small supermarket at the bottom of the hill, and another one at the top of the hill. We went to Ferreries one day to go to a larger supermarket. We ate out once, at the restaurant that our host, Marcella, recommended, which I would also recommend: Lacala Pizzeria (my friend had pizza and I had a non-pizza dish). A very tastefully designed restaurant. Our hostess, Marcella, was very kind and very helpful. Definitely worth exploring the beaches either side of the town beach (by foot, using the paths along the cliffs). I particularly loved Cala Mitjana, which was 30 minutes walk from the apartment. I would stay at the apartment again but I wouldn't stay in this town again (see below).

− Apartment: * The pots and pans could do with a refresh. And there weren't enough small bowls for leftovers. We had to use cups and glasses. * The bidet pipe came off one day (we were using to wash our sandy feet) and water leaked all over the bathroom floor. I noticed there were splashes of excrement on the wall and on the floor behind the bidet. It had clearly happened before and not been thoroughly cleaned. Otherwise the apartment was pretty clean. * We had a later check-out and my friend met the cleaners who were very cross we had not emptied the bin. There were no instructions in the room about what to do with rubbish so they could hardly complain! Very rude of them! And we had been taking all our recycling to the large town recycling bins we found at the bottom of the hill so it's not like we were being deliberately lazy. Town: * The town seems to have a problem with a strong sulphur smell. To me it smelt like there was sewage being leaked into the river. I did do a Google search and it seems to be a problem that has been going on for years. There was also a brown scum on the surface of the seawater in the cove; it was visible from above (see photo taken from the Melía Cala Galdana hotel). Not sure what it is but I didn't swim from the town beach again after that. One night the sulphur smell was really overpowering in the early hours, and I had to cover my nose with the bedsheet. Foul. * There's music played from all the large hotels (3) every night. But they do switch it all off at 10:30 PM on the dot. * This is very much a tourist town so if you want a place where locals co-exist with tourists and there are lots of lovely shops like bakeries, boutique shops, etc, this isn't the place to come. Which is why I wouldn't visit again (plus the awful sulphur smell).

Nous avons adoré l'emplacement, la vue, le calme et la piscine et la mise à disposition de matériel pour la piscine et la plage. Marcella a été de très bon conseil et a notre disposition tout le séjour ! Idéal pour un séjour en famille!

− Le seul point où il y a une possibilité d'amélioration est la climatisation. Toutefois les 3 ventilateurs très efficaces ont été très appréciés!

Az elhelyezkedés nagyon jó, jó kiindulópont kirándulásokhoz, strandok felfedezéséhez. Minden van, éttermek, boltok, de kicsi léptékben, ami nagyon emberközelivé teszi a helyet. Aki csak strandolni szeretne, szuper számára is!

We have had a wonderful week here. The apartment had everything we needed and was very spacious. The balcony was huge and had an amazing, uninterrupted view over Cala Galdana. The pool was lovely. The apartment is well located, within a short walk of supermarkets, the beach and great restaurants. Marcella was a fabulous host and made our stay extra memorable.
