8.0Charming pub with rooms in a pleasant small village. The food is good and the staff are friendly and helpful.
− The rooms have been tastefully decorated but lack a few finishing touches eg there tends to be nowhere to hang a wet towel to dry and it would be useful to have tissues. It's not inexpensive and one would expect the finishing touches at the price paid. We have stayed before and may well stay again. However, I have mentioned the above issues to previous managers and nothing has been done. I didn't bother to say anything this time. Also a good proportion of the garden chairs are falling apart with holes in the seats - this may become a safety issue in the longer term. It is also worth noting that you have to proactively ask for your room to be serviced - it doesn't happen automatically.
Great location and Friendly Helpful Staff
8.0Beautiful setting and nicely laid out inn with terrace and gardens. Our room was well presented and we were greeted by Simon who was very welcoming and showed us to our room. We did not eat in the restaurant but there is a good range to choose from.
− Given it was 36c on our arrival the sheer heat in our room was very uncomfortable. But Simon provided a fan and we opened the balcony windows to get some air flow. Not the hotel’s fault but we were on our way back from time in Portugal where everywhere has amazing air-conditioning - so we really noticed the difference! The bar even gave us 10% off a cold beer as it was so hot so that was a nice touch! Thank you.

− Could not stand up in bathroom because of sloping roof! Some of the facilities need attention eg the shower door would not stay closed.
Excellent would come again .

− My only disappointment was with the bathroom. There was no grab rail in the bath . I am waiting for a new hip so climbing over the edge of the bath isn’t easy . Also the toilet seat needs adjusting as it isn’t aligned with the toilet bowl … so your sitting at an angle .
