Excellent location, beautiful hiking trails nearby and breathtaking mountain views. Facilities all top-notch, including spa, both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, plus a wonderful natural swimming lake. Great restaurant and bar, both in terms of food and service.

− Service not worthy of a 5 star hotel of this caliber. A few examples: we booked bicycles for a family ride and only found out at the last minute that they did not have a child bike trailer available (despite having previously confirmed that it was). No real effort from the staff to find a solution, and we ended up having to arrange bicycle rental ourselves through an external shop. We booked dinner at their Zuegg restaurant with a departure time of 6:30 PM (small group of clients). We organized our day around it, only to discover late in the afternoon that the dinner had been canceled (the hotel never informed us - we found out because we specifically asked about the meeting point at around 4:00 PM). Complete lack of initiative from the staff to remedy the situation or make up for the inconvenience. Overall, it was a bit disappointing. Miscommunication can always happen, but how it is handled is what makes the difference in places like this.

The biggest disappointment of our honeymoon

− The biggest disappointment of our honeymoon— and by far the most expensive hotel we booked. This hotel knew well in advance that we were celebrating our honeymoon and that my wife was pregnant with twins. When an extreme heatwave was forecast, we contacted them days before arrival and explained that staying in a room without air conditioning could be unsafe. Although they still had time to resell the room, they refused to make any exception. When we arrived, our room had no air conditioning — only portable fans. During the day it felt like a sauna. The hotel’s solution was to move us to another room that also had no air conditioning, claiming it was slightly cooler because it received less direct sunlight, and suggesting we spend the hottest hours elsewhere in the hotel instead of in our room. This is simply not what anyone should expect from a luxury five-star hotel. The room was outdated and poorly maintained, and the entire property suffered from the same problem. On top of that, there was a massive fly infestation. Whether due to the extreme heat or the hotel’s many pools, flies were everywhere — outside, in the spa, the guest rooms, the bar and even the restaurant. Dinner was another major disappointment. It was incredibly expensive, yet much of the food was simply inedible. After our complaints, the hotel upgraded us to a better room and agreed to cancel one night of our stay, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the experience ended just as badly. At check-out they tried to charge us hundreds of euros in extra fees, including massages we had cancelled days earlier. Even worse, one of the hotel’s managers had already acknowledged that they had mistakenly quoted us €79 per person for dinner for the entire stay. Despite admitting the mistake before dinner even took place, they still tried to charge us the higher amount and argued with us at check-out.

Everything about our stay was exceptional! Nothing could be faulted. Food, accommodation, view, facilities 10000/10. We can’t wait to come back!
