Great Experience because of Service
10.0The Shore Club is a beautiful property with gorgeous turquoise water. There was a bit of seaweed during our stay, but the beach was still beautiful. What truly made our stay exceptional was our butler, Mark Sanchez. He was absolutely amazing—attentive, thoughtful, and always made sure everything was perfectly taken care of. Our experience truly would not have been the same without him! Special thanks as well to Mikenson from housekeeping and Geraldine, our room attendant, for their wonderful service. Thank you for making our stay so special!
Stunning Property on Long Bay, Service Falls Just Short of Five Stars
8.0Four stars. The Shore Club is a stunning property, recently built, beautifully completed, and clearly well maintained. The design throughout is gorgeous, from the tastefully decorated lobby to the rooms themselves. We had the chance to stay in a two bedroom penthouse on the top floor, and it was spacious, private, clean, and laid out in a way that truly felt like home. The views of the beach were breathtaking, especially at night when they light up the water. It’s mesmerizing, and the color of the water is simply beautiful. The unit had everything, a full kitchen with full size appliances, and an amazing bathroom stocked with luxurious bath amenities that smelled wonderful. The Shore Club is about fifteen minutes from the airport, an easy taxi ride. It sits a little away from the restaurants on Grace Bay, but nothing on the island is hard to reach since everything is so close. Where the Shore Club falls short of a true five star experience is service. Reception was friendly one day but not much next day, and overall the service didn’t match the level of the property. Small room service requests required repeat visits, and nothing felt personalized. The biggest disappointment was breakfast. The food itself was fine with decent variety, but servers stood around chatting, and when I asked for juice, they simply pointed toward the buffet rather than offering to bring it. There were also quite a few small bugs at breakfast, and I got some bites, so pest control could use attention. Sui-Ren, the signature Japanese-Peruvian restaurant, serves pretty good sushi. It is solid for the island, and the space is beautifully decorated. My one note is that the open air areas, both the restaurant and the lobby, run a bit hot and could use more fans. Overall, this is a beautiful place to stay on Long Bay Beach, which is stunning if you enjoy a windier beach compared to Grace Bay. Long Bay is known for its wind, making it a hotspot for kite surfing, and even if you don’t kite surf, it’s gorgeous just to sit and watch. And if the beach feels too wavy, there are plenty of pools with beautiful, private seating areas right by the pool. The property is exceptionally well executed. The service just needs to catch up.
Like having your own private beach
9.0Very comfortable rooms, the beach was so private and beautiful
− Far from other hotels and restaurants
MAGICAL
10.0The staff was incredible. Everyone - from the front desk, concierge, the restaurant staff. Everyone was exceptional and so helpful. The staff really made this trip special. It was so clean and well kept.
− Honestly there is no complaints
Caribbean treaties
10.0Nice hotel! Somewhat ran down because of the current Caribbean treaties
Go to The Palms instead
2.0Our stay was underwhelming at best. For a highly exclusive 5-star resort, pool and beach service was effectively non existent. Servers rarely came around, looked bored and generally were not welcoming. Recommendations to outside restaurants are not vetted and resulted in nights lost to taxiing around the island looking for somewhere to have a meal. It’s difficult the comprehend the amount of money they charge to stay here when the service is so poor. While the resort has a few employees who stand out (Mon, Delores, Carla, Louis to name a few) the rest of the staff leave a lot to be desired - including the GM Christopher and front desk attendees (Olivia and Khadejah), who are not only unprofessional, unhelpful but lacked any accountability for bad recommendations and bad service. After a particularly terrible restaurant recommendation, Olivia told us the hotel would give us a resort fee for a night wasted in taxis running around the island plus covering of our meal - but when we went to check out, we were told by the GM that was not the case and we should be grateful for the resort fee at all (which they “never do”) because the “hotel does not take any responsibility for the quality of the restaurants they recommend” because they “recommend hundreds.” The website boasts a beach which is non existent - seaweed or no seaweed. The beach is so small that beach chairs can’t fit. They are instead placed in the long grass just above the beach. And there is no service whatsoever. The food onsite is generally average - it’s not bad but it’s on par with most average restaurants in the US. Not what you would expect at a resort of this caliber that charges exponential prices for food, drinks, and bottled water. The Palms boasts a much larger and nicer beach and exceptional service (and slightly better food). It’s no wonder we met multiple families and couples who moved there after just a few hours at The Shore Club. I regret that we did not do the same.
