8.0The grounds were beautiful. The breakfast offerings were awful. The narrow staircase to the bedroom had no safe railing or lighting.

Quiet Stay in Historic French Chateau
10.0Beautiful and picturesque are first impressions of this classic French chateau and expansive gardens. Very quiet and easy uphill walk to the Rue Claude Monet and the town of Giverny
Lovely hotel, but hard to find
8.0This place really needs to put up a sign that arriving guests can see. We had trouble finding the place even though our GPS had told us we had arrived. During the one day that we were there, two other couples approached us, asking us where the hotel was. One of them was driving up and down the street and the other actually knock on the door of our cottage, not realizing that they were actually already at the hotel. It turns out that there is actually a small sign on the side of the building, but it is partially obscured by vegetation. The cottage we were staying in was spacious and lovely, as were the grounds around the hotel. The room was rather hot and the small, portable air conditioner had trouble cooling it down. To find the hotel, I would suggest driving halfway up the road from the main street and look for two black doors on your right. One of the doors is large like a barn door while the other is small. There is a small parking area across the street. You enter the Hôtel courtyard through the small black door.

10.0This is a wonderful location for visiting Monet’s Garden. It is a 15 or less minute easy walk to the garden, so an early morning or late afternoon garden visits, avoiding the crowds, are easily accomplished without driving. The facility itself is charming and the owners very supportive during our 3 day stay. It was e actually what we needed/wanted for our visit to Giverny.
